  1. Bragging about winning the 63rd last year was hardly a good nail to hang his hat on. I saw Greenup play seven times last year and I have to say they can do better. Best of luck to this coach in his new position though.
  2. Feel free to call and set up an appointment any time you want to get it directly from me.
  3. Hard to imagine anyone wanting a part of the Hornet's Nest at this point.
  4. I don't recall anyone else mentioning this when he was hired besides myself. Perhaps my recall isn't what it was.
  5. I said it was a big mistake when they hired him. Where were you on the subject???
  6. By start, I was referring to:since the Reds traded him. Guess you didn't pick up on that.:eyeonyou:
  7. Alonzo is hitting .284 in his first full season so far with 0 HR. Votto is .293 with 2 HR. Alonzo in Left Field looks better to me than what we have.
  8. I said, is what makes a legend. He is not there yet, by anyone's stretch of the imagination but he's not off to a bad start.
  9. Alright, as of now, I can't argue that it was worse than that trade. But, given the same amount of time, it could prove to be. My main point in all of this is it was and is a very bad trade for the Reds. Volquez was a last minute throw in on the Reds part in the Latos deal. They were done with him and wanted him gone. Alonzo, Grandel and Boxberger were the substance of that deal. If Volquez develops for the Padres, it is gravy for them.
  10. LOL :idunno:Mearly a sidebar for those of you that couldn't tell. MVP's and the stats Hamilton has put up and will most likely continue to, make a legend. The fact some of you still can't just acknowledge that it was a horrible trade is what's laughable.
  11. Certainly, that is the ONLY trade that rivals the Hamilton trade. Josh Hamilton became the first Major Leaguer since 2003 to hit four home runs in a game during the Rangers' win over the Orioles Tuesday night. Volquez pitching again soon, for the PADRES.
  12. The Volquez trade will turn out to be a great trade, for the Padres. The Hamilton trade was the worst trade by the Reds of all time. I said it then and I'll stand by that statement.
  13. This was started in December and only concerns last years team.
  14. It wasn't a shock, it was a coin flip. They both finished 18-14 in a weak four team district. Both cake walked to the regional and lost. Of their 18 wins only five came against teams with a winning record. ( Russell, Pikeville, Fairview, Clinton Co and Ironton, Oh) The win against Ironton was later avenged by the Tigers with a 46 point win, once they had their full compliment of players. So, I wouldn't give Coach Youngman any accolades just yet. The combined record for the teams Greenup defeated was 229-284. 15. Raceland will be filling their open position with a internal option. They currently have no open teaching jobs to offer anyone. Biggs @ Ashland has pretty much explored his options each year but has chosen to stay, so far.
  16. Ashland was robbed, of an attempt to go into overtime. Pathetic no call on the shot. No excuse for it. Also, Congrats to Rowan Co are deserved. :thumb: They played well and it certainly wasn't their fault the ref closed his eyes.
  17. Almost like in 2007 when Russell was 27-4 and Jon Vanhoose went down in Districts with a knee injury. The Devils ended up losing to Elliott Co in the Region, a team they had handled twice during the regular season. Also in 2005 when Derek Sloane separated his shoulder in the first quarter of the Region Final against Rowan Co. If not for injuries, it could have been three in a row for the Devils. And now, Skaggs this year. Truly a snake bitten team since 2005.:idunno:
  18. Exactly what I told my buddies I was with. Bush had the ball at mid-court with 7 seconds left, trailing by three and Flemming didn't foul him. :eek:Unbelievable! :idunno:That type of decision will get you beat more times than not. I thought both teams played sloppy and poorly. The officials didn't do any better. Horrible calls on both ends of the floor. Survive and advance. It was real ugly but it counted. I look for the Tomcats to dismantle East on Friday.
  19. Like I said before the season started, it comes down to Ashland or Rowan Co.:walk:
  20. :dancingpa:eek::eyeonyou::banana::thumb:Congrats to coach Kidwell and the Devils!
  21. Don't get me wrong Doc, I like Coach Kidwell and we are friends. I, in no way, was taking a shot at him in this thread. I was only trying to point out that you shouldn't get too excited about this years team, based on the schedule played. The coach didn't make the schedule. Russell has always, up until the last couple of years played a much tougher schedule. But you also have to admit that the 16th overall has been much worse than usual the last two years.
