Former Russell coach, Steve Dodd was the coach @ AB for several years. While he was there, two local players attended. Ty Davis from Ironton (got homesick and left after one year) and from Ashland, I believe the name was Dirk Andrews. I attended about 6 games a year during this time and saw some very good basketball.

This was a real shame. I hate it for the kids and the GC fans. Dunaway should have hired a coach with experience. We'll see how this experiment plays out.:popcorn:

Hampton and I believe one of the guards were not there. Other than that, I believe they were at full strength.

Coach Dodd spoke to Jim Dunaway once early but has not been in town.

Dunaway can either give the job to Jeff Nickel, who I don't believe has ever coached a high school game or he might see if Coach Dodd still has any interest.

I believe GC can scratch Adkins off the list. He is headed to Nashville on a recruiting trip and seems rather happy where he is. I don't know if they ponied up a raise or not.:eyeonyou:

The offer was made to Adkins and he is taking his time deciding to see if Campbellsville will up the ante to keep him.:popcorn: Apparently Greenup decided to offer him the AD job as well to give him a salary increase.:popcorn: Greenup may be left holding the bag again.:popcorn: I heard about two months ago that the Greenup AD was leaving and it appears that might be the case.

Kayla Parsley from Russell High School has accepted and will sign a scholarship with D2 Ohio Valley University to play basketball. Congrats to Kayla, a beautiful and talented young lady.:dancingpa:clap:

He has been the weekly recipient of the "Dick Fick" Award for many years in the 16th region.:thumb: He is worth the price of admission by himself!:thumb: The former Morehead coach Dick Fick was a feature story almost weekly on ESPN for his antics.

:idunno: Adkins does not have a teaching certificate for one thing. Also, Adkins and one of his ast. coaches told a friend that he was not interested. Did McCoy take the job Saturday or was he given more time?:popcorn:

McCoy is coming to town today with his wife to make a decision? If he doesn't take the job, interviews continue.:popcorn: His deadline was Thursday but Greenup gave him an extension. Adkins has no interest. Someone from Greenup made a call to him, he did not call.
