Top Post Players You Have Seen this Year
shs2005 replied to thepeopleschamp's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
You have to have Nathan Holton from Somerset in this list. He is averaging 20 points plus for the Jumpers this year. -
How do you think Somerset will fare in the 12th Region this year? I'm not sure on what they have returning, i know they will be young, but how young are they?
-
Danville's Daniel Perron can throw down pretty hard.. Also Harrodsburg has a kid thats 5'10 or 5'11 that can throw down with ease.. When Somerset played Harrodsburg earlier in the year, he won the tip over 6'5 Nathan Holton from Somerset.
-
Yeah i just got back from the game.. He single handedly beat us.. we were up the entire first half.. but in the first quarter they ran an oop to him that he threw down hard...why did he leave Bryan Station?

John Cole started at one guard Chip Clay started at the other guard Ray Norman and Corey Price started at the foward spots Nathan Holton started at Center for the Jumpers John is filling in for Eric Wilson, and Corey got the starting nod when Andy Cole went down with a torn ACL against Russell County earlier in the season -

It looked to me like he elbowed Deaton in the back of the head, and then when he realized that there was no foul called on the play, and while Deaton was laying motionless on the floor he decided to take some anger out on a former teammate and dive on him. I am also tired of watching these two play, particularly the younger one! The referees almost seemed scared to call anything on either one of the Perkins brothers. I look foward to playing them again come february! -
Final in Overtime. Any thoughts from anyone who was able to attend the game? Late in the overtime period Pulaski had a technical foul called that sealed the game for the Jumpers. Ray Norman had a big night as he finished with 26 points and Nathan Holton threw in 19 for the Briar Jumpers.

Does anyone in the mountains play defense?
shs2005 replied to Jim Schue's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
In the 12th Region Somerset has a tough defense. Earlier in the year they held the high powered Southwestern Offense to 39 points. Although the offense hasnt came around yet. The Defensive side of the ball is where they are strong. -
What are everyones thoughts and predictions on this District Seed game? The game is at the Patch and Somerset should have the advantage. With this being said, i Somersets stingy defense is the turning point of this game Somerset-48 Pulaski-35

How does Nick Scalf win the QB of the year award over Somerset's Ross Deaton? Just curious because imo, Deaton had a much better year than Scalf. -
In a recent game aganist Russell County, The Briar Jumpers starting point guard, Andy Cole landed akwardly and tore his acl. How will this affect the Jumpers on their quest for the 12th region title? Andy is also the starting Left Fielder on the Jumpers baseball team.

shs2005 replied to tha champ's topic in KY Football (High School)
Yes, John Cole of Somerset is only going to be a junior nexy year this kid has the quickness and speed to play D-1 I think it will be The Deaton and Col Show next year at Somerset -
The Newells in Somerset have had a great legacy that has been passed down throught the whole family. Some of those players are; Archie Newell, Chris Newell, Brandon Newell, Scotty Newell(All three of these players have some sort of record that they hold at Somerset High School)
