LC will win. I look for fullback Coty Roberts to have a big game. He has a score to settle with Coal Grove. :sssh: He scored quickly last year then got hurt in the first quarter with a separated shoulder. Probably would have had a big game. I think that seniors Josh Ferguson & Brian Scarberry will really step up this year in the linebacker positions. Coal Grove is more fundamentally sound so LC will need to really get the points up early and maintain through their defense.

I think with Blake's new input, the fresh air will do some good, especially with the offense. The offense will really come on strong. Coty Roberts will be back and he almost broke 1000 yards (as a fullback) in 2006 and that was behind a pretty young offensive line. Coty will continue to provide the defensive leadership with the guys coming up. Boone will come to the QB position with some more experience. You have some weapons with Mark Fitzpatrick and Shane Pack. We will miss big Kyle Carter on the line, but we will have some more big guys that I feel will step up this year. Don't forget that we have some potential with the receivers Acie Waller and Richard Thomas. I think that Blake will help keep the team on track and not lose focus. This way the team will continue to get better as the season goes. I look for good things this season and I think that community will rally around the dawgs once more for a bang up season.

I think that we at LC have a lot to get excited about. With a healthy Boone in the QB spot and Mark Fitzpatrick able to get on the receiving end of the ball, it will be a deeper offense than what we have had. Acie Waller will be another asset to the offense which will open up the running game for Coty & Shane. I really look for the line to continue to improve. Big Drew Webb will also be back to provide some size to the line. Another kid that came on strong at the end of the year was Josh Ferguson at linebacker. I look for him to come out strong as well. If the kids will come out and get excited, I look for a great year. :ylsuper: By the way I want to say congrats to Kyle for All-State 3rd team and Coty Roberts for all area fullback. Morgan Roberts also got All area on defense

It's senior night -- could be alot of emotions going on on the SW side but I think they easily will win this one. The senior ceremony is going to be a long one .... 18 seniors, I think and none are classier than Jonesy!

Wish that I could watch this one. It is going to be a good close game but I have to go support my Warriors on Senior Night. I think Somerset will pull this one out though --- Cole and Deaton are just too good.

Ok, I have tried to not let some of these posts get to me, but I feel the need to add my opinion like everyone feels the need to add theirs. I have seen posts referring to how bad LC has been for the past 5 years. I think that the quote was "they have been just awful". Well in 2001, which was 5 years ago, I believe that we were undefeated. If that is "just awful, I'll take it. In the past 5 years, we have gone to the playoffs every year except for one. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think that last year was the first year JC won against LC. :confused: Now mind you, that is not a predictor of tomorrow's game and JC apparently has a good team this year as well (if not better), but let's give credit where credit is due.....Just because LC has not been as dominate the past year or so like they were in the 90's don't worry, we will be. To say that LC doesn't come to play or have no chance against a clearly superior team in many opinion, well is just not giving them or the tradition of LC Football any credit. Make no mistake, last year against JC was the worst game that our team played all year (IMO, one of the worst games ever in LC history), it was awful; The dawgs will come to play this year and please don't belittle the boys by saying that we are going to "take out" players....they don't deserve that. To read the JC posts, LC's team is full un-skilled players and weak O-Lines and JC will just have their way. I guess there is no need for us to even show up. JC has a good team for a couple of years and now they are the football powerhouse that everyone should fear....pleeeease. I have not seen any posts eluding to any of JC's weakness or slaming any of the JC players, oh I'm sorry, I guess JC has none. My bad. Let the teams back it up on the field and may the best team win.

The field drains pretty good. There is a new track and the drainage around it is not good, but the field itself is good. The team does not practice on it so it should be in good shape.

I think that this one will be closer than what many will think. I pick Prestonsburg by 2.

Congrats to LC. A little sloppy at first but got it done. A more balanced offense was the key. The boys needed this one. :ylsuper:

Well, I would say that on any given Friday. any team and I mean any team can be beat. I would assume that the Dawgs think that they can win all of them. But once they get into district, I think that we will have to step it up. Seriously, I think that JC will be the most difficult and my head may be in the clouds, but one never knows. The dawgs will take one game at a time and we are looking forward to Pike County Central.

:confused: I'm sorry how does the momentum change when LC scores? umm, I mean they did score first. I think that Belfry was able to wear us down because of their depth as the game went on (in the second half), but I hardly think that that Belfry was in control from there. I think that Belfry is a real good ball team and I am not taking anything away from their win. Perhaps it depended on which side you were watching the game from, but the game was still LC's to win, even after a quarter and a half There is no doubt that LC will need to change some things as they go into their district games. Once again though, congrats to Belfry and I truly hope they continue to do well the rest of their season.

I do believe that LC played with them more than a quarter. Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think Belfry scored until there was about 4 minutes left in the 2nd quarter. They scored again right before half time. It was only 14-6 at half time. I think that LC was without their starting linebacker Coty Roberts for most of the game because they wanted to rest his shoulder that was injured in last week's game. When he did go in, he made a lot of stops and looked good. Still the team is showing promise and I think that we will continue to grow. Always a good game with Belfry and good luck to the Pirates next week. Go Dawgs.
