  1. That is not exactly what he said. If you saw the game you know that the seniors provided great leadership. In fact, some of the performance deterioration late was after three senior leaders went down. I know that you like to run the Trinity players and coaches down, but this group will be fine. There was no quit in that team last night. They will get better as the younger kids gain experience, but this will be a senior led team.
  2. I didn’t post on the game last night because I was so mad about some of the comments on here that I would have said something stupid about some of the posters. Let me tell you what I saw. I saw two very good football teams that left every ounce of skill and effort they had on the field. Regarding the 3rd down call, it cost them 40 seconds, but a first down would have sealed the game. The play they called was open but the execution was off. Late in the season if that situation happens again the execution will be there. It was a call that showed confidence in the players. Essential for the long term. I remember a CJ article from 2003. It was a very similar situation. Late in the game, Trinity lead X by 3 with the state title on the line. Third down. The reporter was standing near Jeff Brohm. Jeff kept repeating “throw it”. Brian Brohm threw for the first down and iced the game. Same situation, different result. Trust the kids. Trust the coaches. The effort I saw last night will win a lot of games.
  3. One of the things you learn from sports is that life isn't always fair. The KHSAA had a tough call and made it. There was no good answer. I didn't like it, but it was what it was. I noticed that this year they reworked the schedule so that they would have had more time if the weather had intervened. As much as I would have liked the championship (if it had happened), whining to a judge was not the answer.
  4. Opioids were marketed as a safe way to manage pain. They aren't. Once that was recognized, everyone in the supply chain had a duty to monitor their own activities. That is drug companies, doctors, pharmacies and patients. One way to prompt people to modify their own behavior is to make it expensive not to. Hence the lawsuit.
  5. There are high school teams that would beat the women. After all, LeBron was a high school player once. For most of the boys teams I'm thinking Billy Jean King and Bobby Riggs.
  6. If you saw the game and have any empathy at all you would never say anything like that. The kids from both teams played hard the whole way. As far as the players that aren't on the team, I don't think that has any relevance. They aren't on the team. One has a very bright future in football. If he saw it to his benefit to concentrate on football, so be it. I don't see the other young mans decision to transfer as any different that any other transfer. I don't want the coaches to make their decisions based on keeping the kid from transferring. The coaches make the decisions about who plays. I liked this years team, with or without others who chose not to be part of it.
  7. Rob Saxton may agree with you, but as a fan I am sure he will come up with games that are much better than J-town and Seneca.
  8. I am very happy you understand. Kidding aside, I expect Coach Wallace to have more success against Trinity than the other coaches have had in the past few years. Trinity has held the top spot in big school football for 50 years. I don’t expect that to change. Coach Wallace played has played Trinity close during his time at BG. I look for that to continue.
  9. Coach Wright would be an interesting choice. A great coach, but I can think of six jobs he’s held since leaving Trinity after one year.
  10. Coach Beatty has won at a better rate than any coach ever in the history of Kentucky. Even better than coaching legend and Hall of Famer Dennis Lampley. The resources at other places are as good as they are at Trinity, but they don't win like Trinity. Coach Beatty has done a great job and the honor is well deserved.
  11. If it were up to me this would be the top thread, all day every day.
  12. But administrators and school boards that allow those things can't. They have to be replaced. You can have a great school in a tent. The people are what is important.
  13. I like it. In most years it will mean a home game for Trinity thanksgiving weekend.
  14. Any word on where the young man is attending school?
  15. From what I understand, no ticket sales at the door. They are available t the schools, while they last.
  16. Wow, I googled Coach Lenti. I had to check and make sure I hadn't typed in Coach Glaser by mistake.
  17. As I said earlier, I don’t know anything about the kid. I suppose we’ll know in a couple of days. If he transfers to Trinity, welcome. You’re going to love it. If he is somewhere else, good luck with the rest of high school. Make the most of it.
  18. I've never heard of the kid and I don't know whether he plans to transfer or not. If he decides that he would like to transfer to Trinity, he should be treated the same as any other student - no better and no worse.
  19. In what way? Did the kid cause trouble? Did he get kicked out? Did he flunk out? If not, I'd say it turned out just fine.
