  1. Normally, Ms. Basketball is someone who was on the all-state team during their junior year and/or maybe their sophomore year too. There has been some debate whether the coaches should just consider the senior or all the years. IMO, I think you need to consider all the years because it is based on their career. Most of the time the stats speak for themselves.
  2. I think you may be thinking of the wrong Kues. His brother used to coach at Brossart and is now rebuilidng the program at Silver Grove who will resume a JV/Varsity Schedule next season. The Kues at Holy Cross has only coached at Holy Cross and no where else. Easy to be confused if you are not up on the coaching.
  3. Let's save some people some time here. Since 1993 when they started the 16-team state tournament, public schools have had 177 schools in the tournament and private schools have had 63. Public schools have won 10 of the 15 state all a tournaments and private schools have won 5. So, does it still appear as if the private schools have DOMINATED the tournament. Try to find some other angle to argue other than that it should be a private school state tournament because yours does not pan out when you look at the statistics. Try again.
  4. Ok, let's just call it the "Private School All A Classic" and NO public schools even need to play in the regionals to qualify. Opps, wait a minute. I think the public schools have as much of a chance qualifying for the All A state tournament as other schools. I detect some jealousy on the part of a few who are crying about private schools again. Better go back to the records and check how many private schools have won the ALL A and how many private schools have won it. And while you are at it, why not check to see how many public vs private have qualified for the ALL A State. Then come back and cry about something else.

You might want to correct yourself. The radio said that Nicholas Co. was the only other one to win the All 'A' and Sweet Sixteen, but actually Hazard pulled the hat trick in 1997 winning both. Check the records and you'll see that's correct. So now there are THREE 'A' schools who have done it.
  6. tried to listen to siten but asked for name and password. can u post the web-site?
  7. thanks for all the updates red devil. are u listening to it on-line? hey, if you don't mind, could you include how much time is left, if it's not too mcuh trouble. thanks
  8. The proposal to change to different classes can come from any size school but I can bet you every last penny that the majority of schools would be against it because the majority of the schools are large schools, not small schools. The large schools have NOTHING to lose by keeping it the way it is. If they changed it, they would have to compete only against large schools in the district and regional and have less chance of getting to the state tournament. Large schools always (especially with small schools in their district and regional) have a chance of playing small schools to further their advancement in the tournament, but if they only played large schools they would have less of a chance. It's a moot point because it will NEVER change.
  9. 1 Iroquois 1 North Hardin 1 Barren Co. 1 Assumption 1 Lex. Chr. 1 Montgomery Co. 1 Notre Dame 1 Rosehill Chr. 2 Iroquois 2 Assumption 2 Lex. Christian 2 Notre Dame 3 Assumption 3 Lex. Christian 5 Assumption Total Score - 144
  10. Holmes by 12 pts. Holmes playing much better at the end of the season. NCC - not so. They barely beat Dixie who they should have beaten by double digits and well we won't even mention the Highlands game.
  11. Montgomery will be too tough for Harrison regardless of what Mac does. Can see Mac though riding the officials like he normally does and maybe even getting a technical. Montgomery by 20! Mason Co. is more than capable of dismantling Brossart. They were up by 30 pts going into the 4th quarter the last time they played Brossart. BUT, if they get into foul trouble or into a running game with Brossart it could mean an exit for Mason. All in all, I would say Mason by 10 or more.
  12. Now that last statement "new recruits they are suppose to be getting?" would be funny if it wasn't likely to happen. We have seen it happen nearly every year and one would EXPECT it to happen again and again. There is no reason to believe that players will stop transferring to Boone. At this point I know there have been players from SIX high schools who played for those high school. That's a record that no one will ever beat and without question will increase in number by next season. I think they should change the name to Boone Co. Univeristy. Chuckle chuckle
  13. wow, now that would be a long long list - but to name of few - Conner, Holy Cross, Ryle, Simon Kenton, Dixie, and on and on and on. I'm sure there will be a "new addition" to the Boone Co. squad next year. Which school you say? Could be from anywhere. Most teams would love to have all the transfers she's had over the years. And even though this past season's transfer made an immediate impact, one has to wonder if messed up the chemistry that last years team had. But that all speculation.
  14. One would think Brossart would have little trouble with Scott but having said that - Scott has been playing better lately and Brossart has not. Nothing is guarenteed in this sport. If Brossart brings its A game then they will win by 15 or more points. If not, Scott could pull out a close one.
  15. Dixie should be congratulated but neither of these teams will make it past the first round of the regional. Ludlow will have to most likely play Boone, Notre Dame, or NCC. And Dixie, being the winner of the district, won't have it much easier, by most likely playing the district runner-ups - Conner, Highlands, or Holmes. But they should be proud of winning the district.
  16. I have known Coach Ormes for quite a while and even though I was not at the game, I still feel confident that he did not try to embarass the Augusta players in any way or instruct his players to say anything unclassy. He is one of the classiest coaches I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and have never heard anything bad come out of his mouth. You may want to get your stories straight before you start bashing anyone. And remember, you know what happens when you ASsUme.
  17. 1st - Marshall Co. 2nd - Henderson Co. 3rd - Muhlenberg North 4th - Franklin Simpson 5th - Elizabethtown 6th - Fairdale 7th - Manuel 8th - Shelby Co. 9th - Notre Dame 10th - Montgomery Co. 11th - Scott Co. 12th - Rockastle Co. 13th - Clay Co. 14th - Breathitt Co. 15th - Magoffin Co. 16th - Russell TB1 - 13th TB2 - 7th
  18. I would think Brossart would have little trouble with Harrison Co. since Harrison is down this year. I would take Brossart by 15 or more.
  19. i think in order to be a candidate for the hall of fame you had to be out of high school for at least 5 years and have to be nominated by your school. Not sure if the AD or present basketball coach has to nominate them. And also not sure how many are elected each season. You would need to find someone on the inside who could give you more info.
  20. don't think the KHSAA would follow through with the sanction unless that had real proof - being as spineless as they normally are, they wouldn't do it unless they had good facts. Unfortunately Whitesburg went on probation and High left for Breathitt Co. So the program was punished, not the coach. I like Coach High, but if the program is put on probation I think the coach should be too and should not be allowed to coach again until the team probation is completed. Just my opinion.
  21. Would have to agree with Sosby; before he came into the program, it was awful. And Brooks has done a very nice job at Paris. Mac has had a tough season - not having the horses he's had in the past. And John High has had a lot of talent at Montgomery Co. and made the most out of it. Besides those, I don't think anyone has proven themselves enough to be on the list above. IMO
  22. Thank you bulldog77 for using common sense and realizing that just because some teams have been moved to a different region (not their choice) that they not be excluded by the conference. Hey 3-pt shooter, it IS called the NORTHERN KY. CONFERENCE and the schools in the 8th and 10th have not physically moved out of northern Ky., just into a different region. QUit crying over spilled milk and eat your cookies! And speaking of "freezing over", I think with this cold weather, I think that place you spoke of may be frozen - so THERE YOU GO!
  23. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't Brossart, Campbell Co, Scott, Calvary and Silver Grove in the NKAC (Northern Ky. Athletic Conference)? If you want to exclude them from the area, then maybe you should also exclude them from the confernence. It's not those teams fault they got moved to a different region. So do you want to punish them by excluding them from the Conference and any recognition? Blame can't be put on these teams. Try to get over it 3-pointer. Sounds like a little jealousy if you ask me.
  24. Second trip to the finals for the Lady Breds and both times coming home as the bridesmaid, but still a pretty good accomplishment for them. They should be proud of making it to the finals even though I'm sure they would have liked a bigger trophy. St. Henry took the same trophy home in '96 as did Brossart in '98 and '00. However , Brossart did win it in 1999 (or at least I think it was '99), making them the only girls team to win it all. Congratulations to the Lady Breds - they faced a formiable foe in Lex. Christian.
