SK played this game on a Saturday night after a Friday night game. :thumb:

A lot of people, myself included thought Walton was just as good as that SK team. I think it was a shame that two schools 6 miles apart had to have great teams the same year!! :thumb: :thumb:

Simon Kenton also had the members of the 1981 KSAA state champions on hand to be honored at halftime. There was a 15 minute standing ovation as they were introduced as the 9th regions only state champs in basketball!! I am still frustrated by the foul shooting of the Pioneers, it reminded me of the Boone County Game all over again. Simon Kenton makes their foul shots and they win by over 30. :thumb: I am still waiting for Josh Hurd to be more of a finisher around the basket. Josh Elbert had a nice breakaway dunk on a fast break. SK needs to come out of the locker room at halftime fired up. IMO

I agree Neerfan, it has been my experience in the 8th and 9th regions, that a two man crew is better. I have seen time and time again where one referee out of the three will make 60% of the calls. There is always one dominate referee. I say go with three and save the money spent on the third referee, who isn't really required!! I think everyone has seen the dominating referee I am refering to on a three man crew, make calls he wasn't in position to see, where the third referee isn't blowing his whistle.

Why is Chumbler the Paducah coach making all of the comments if he was playing at Trigg County??

They have played some good teams already out of their region Bryan Station, Henry Clay, and Oldham County. Josh continues to be a work in progress, but like they say it is hard to teach heighth. Josh handled himself well last night he blocked a few shots and handled himself in the paint quite well. I just wish he would finish more around the basket. Hester throws some bullet passes that are hard to handle , but when Josh learns to catch these and then finish SK will really be tough! :thumb:

I hear you!! I will say this though, that Sk entered the 8th region just this year after having been a part of the 9th for so long. They also have a District that is seeded where they have to play three teams twice, Walton, Grant County, and Williamstown. I wish the Pioneers had never had to leave the 9th. With this being said playing against the likes of Scott, Dixie, CovCath and Holmes should more that prepare the Neers for the rest of the good teams in the 8th they haven't played.

I was there for both games and the only thing I consistently notice about the officiating is, when there is a three man crew there is always one dominating referee who make over half of the calls. I noticed a few calls that were made against Male where there was no way the referee could see the play. I say that, because they made the call in front of me and there was a referee on the baseline, who never blew his whistle. All in all this is a excellent event .. :thumb: The Sk and Henry Clay game was just a matter of SK making a few mistakes against Henry Clays press late in the game. I look forward to the Male SK game it should be entertaining. The only thing I don't like is that it starts 5:15 this afternoon. :eek: :mad:

They should win the 32nd district hands down .. I hope they come in under the radar against Shelby in the regionals. They are still playing without Seth Blevins. I asked him tonight when he thought he might be ready, and he's hoping by the time the districts start.

I just got back from Scott County Sk made a few mistakes against Henry Clay,s press , it was a tight game. Hester played well he had several staels over 5 for sure. They Play Louisville Male tommorrow in the early game.!! :thumb:

Coach Hicks has this one set up for his Scott County team to be in the finals Simon Kenton is in the killer bracket!!They have to get through Henry Clay, E-town, and Male just to have a chance to play the Cards.

I am thinking about making the trek down I-71 to watch this tommorrow night. I am hoping this will be a real good game. I don't really know much about Oldham other than their record. Your thoughts????

I think a lot of this stems from the fact that the Wildcats finally have a good team after years of being so-so. With this being said, the Wildcats are extremely supported by their rabid fanbase. That to me is worth any poll that they could ever be listed in!! :thumb: I was amazed at the crowd they drew to the Sweet Sixteen last year!!

These are the kind of games I don't like. I hope SK plays their Jayvees much of this game to avoid needless injuries :thumb:
