Trinity would have a much tougher game vs their own freshman team than these varsity teams in the Shamrocks “pod”.

St. X won a lacrosse game last week 41-0. This week a 3 inning baseball game 30-0. Great sportsmanship as always coming out of Poplar Level Road.

And if you think CAL had some easy games and manhandled teams in 3A, wait until you watch their games vs Waggener, Valley and Shelby County. Instead of a multiplier system, the KHSAA needs a promotion and relegation system. CAL should indeed move up to 4A and Waggener, Valley and Shelby County need to be dropped to 3A.

6A is a different animal. Yes. In 2025 they advanced to the state title game. That was one year (yes, I know their 1st year in 6A). But Bullitt East won 6A a few years ago. What have they done in 6A since then? I agree with bruin66. in my opinion, if you want to go toe to toe with Trinity year in and year out, or the next tier down in Male, St. X, FD, etc, your out of district schedule needs to challenge you in a big way at least 3 times before district play begins. Every single out of district game Trinity will play in 2026 will challenge them in a big way. That is true for the Rocks almost every year.

That was the approach Coach Wolfe took when he accepted the job at Male. And, that included playing Trinity at the F and JV levels as well. He said that if he avoided Trinity at ANY level what message was that sending to his players. He felt that before we can compete toe to toe with them in the varsity post season, we need to compete with them in the regular season.

The Rocks completed spring practice yesterday. From all accounts the depth they have at running back, receivers and defensive secondary is ridiculous. There is immense talent all over those units. A 4 year starting QB, a couple of dudes at DL and LB, and a place kicker who is good to 55/60 yards. Wow. The primary question is how will a young and inexperienced OL progress vs the most challenging regular season schedule in the state.

Two wonderful gets for USF. These are fine young men and I feel their best basketball is ahead of Feldhaus and Johnson.

This is a really challenging coaching gig. They are 11-44 in the last 5 years. This will be their 3rd coach in 6 years. Absolutely no rest for the weary.

I hope she was not the female ref on the 8th Region crew that officiated the Trinity-St. X Region Tournament boys basketball game at Valley in March. That crew (and her) were in way, way over their heads. That game was fast and physical and the crew was awful. They clearly missed the most obvious goaltending call I have ever seen at a critical point in the game. Fans from both sides were talking about it after the game.

I like the alternating dark and light green field sections. A bit too much gold/yellow all over for me. It’s gonna take more than new turf to reverse the fact the Tigers have been bounced/trounced from the playoffs the last 3 seasons by a total losing margin of 88 points.

Congrats to Mike and LCA. Very good guy. Glad this was their hire rather than a couple of names I heard were their “top targets”.

Rocks head back to Kentucky with a win and a 2-2 record at the national tournament in North Carolina.

Rocks with a tough day Friday at the national tournament in North Carolina. They are 1-2 in this event going in to their final game on Saturday vs St. John Bosco (CA).

Baylor scores 3 in the bottom of the 7th for the come from behind win. Trinity moves to the consolation bracket and will play a California school on Friday.

The Belmont Head Coach who recruited Jake left Belmont to become the Head Coach for Kansas State. Time to see what his other options could be.

All good points. But Gilvin was even more than vastly improved. He was selected 1st team All Region by opponent coaches and averaged 16 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals per game vs the toughest schedule in the state. And, the Rocks have a rising sophomore named Colt Powers. Watch out for Colt. Played at IMG as an 8th grader but was out all his Frosh season at Trinity with a back injury.
