In close games vs good teams, Madison Central only plays 6 players. That is a problem in a tournament like the KOB or the Sweet 16 when you are playing multiple games in a short timeframe. Their starting 5 are as good as any in the state and Feldhaus is the real deal.

With Coach May’s 3 year tenure at St. X, and with the transition to a new HC (TBD) at St. X, I wonder if any of the current Tiger assistant coaches might end up at PRP on Coach May’s staff?

Summary of 2025- Trinity completed the 2025 season as KHSAA 6A State Champions; a 3rd straight state championship for the Rocks and the 30th football state championship in school history. Trinity ended the season with a record of 13-2. They scored on average 41.8 points per game and allowed on average 9.8 points per game; both of those stats were #1 in class 6A. Outlook for 2026 - Coach Jay Cobb and the Shamrocks graduate several key lineman on both sides of the ball. At the same time the team returns many other starters on both sides of the ball and on special teams. Trinity is especially loaded with a returning 3 year starter at QB, along with several skill players and defensive backs. The schedule will be as challenging as it always is with a couple of year over year changes in opponents. This will be a challenging match up for the young Shamrocks. Madison Central starts 4 seniors who have played together for a long time, to include Jake Feldhaus. Trinity will counter with a lineup starting 1 senior. Another senior, Xavier Cosby, has been out for several weeks with a foot injury. His playing status for this game is not known.

Without knowing the specifics (assuming the game is indeed under contract between the two schools), I have no other comment.

But I know for a fact all of this is true.

I don’t have any knowledge of the arrangement for this game or if it is even contracted yet.

In the last 5 meetings between X and T, the Rocks are 4-1 and have averaged 36 points per game on the Tigers, including a 50 burger this season. Might want to rethink who stays and who goes.

Approximately how many of the current assistant coaches work in the building compared with the number that are paraprofessionals?

Not likely to happen. While the Rocks were pleased with the level of competition vs MBA, Ensworth and Brentwood Academy, the 3 hour drive and losing an hour coming back got the busses back on campus around 2 am. The top schools in the Indianapolis and Cincinnati areas are much better logistically.

Does anyone know if the JCPS central office, or the JCPS District A.D., gets involved in the hiring decisions for these head coaches, or, is it solely up to the respective school Principal and school A.D.?

Your take just might be a bit off. Trinity and Coach Beatty had an outstanding junior football class for the 2019 season. Very, very talented. That team went 13-2 vs a very similar schedule to the 2025 Rocks. They lost to Male and Cathedral. They scored 599 points and allowed 138 points. They won state. Trinity and Coach Cobb had an outstanding junior football class for the 2025 season. Very, very talented. That team went 13-2. They lost to Moeller and Cincy St X. They scored 628 points and allowed 147 points. They won state. I doubt that Coach Cobb is an ”average coach”.

So he played for CBC soccer at the Olympics in 1904 and was in residency with your wife in more recent years….. Call me impressed with his versatility and longevity.

I wonder if Mike Jackson (currently HC at DeSales) or Tommy Williams (currently Asst Coach at Trinity) might have an interest here? Both have experience as HC’s for JCPS schools. Jackson at Ballard and Williams at PRP.
