I'm taking Zane over Burke on this list mostly due to SOS but also because of how ridiculous Cantwell's comments were about his season...Otherwise I buy most of what is on here

It is a shame the Courier-Journal cannot get responses from more than 102 coaches in Kentucky.  When the C-J All-State team selection process started, the coaches would drive to Louisville and meet for the weekend discussing in depth each position.

By the same token, I don't think that coaches are the best barometer of all state.  How many players, NOT ON THEIR SCHEDULE, do they see to judge?  Most just vote for players based on reputation or word of mouth from other coaches.

Then who? The journalists who only cover a handful of area teams? Same situation.

Great question.  It would almost require a select group of voters w/ access to all players put in contention from local writers/coaches.  They'd have to watch film w/ clear grading criteria.  

That will never happen, so we are left w/ regional bias.
