The Trinity Shamrocks (10-2) welcome the Madison Central Indians (8-4) to Shelbyville Rd. on Friday night for some 6A quarterfinal action. Trinity is coming off a 50-0 win over Simon Kenton and has outscored their opponents 230-6 over their last five games. Madison Central is coming off a 45-7 win over George Rogers Clark on Friday. These programs have met just twice in history (1999, 2012) with Trinity winning both meetings. Do the Shamrocks keep steamrolling their way through the playoffs or does Jay Cobb's squad finally meet a challenge with the visitors from Richmond?

Trinity will win and likely by multiple touchdowns. I do hope for a more competitive game than what the Shamrocks have played over the past month.

The Trinity Shamrocks (9-2) will welcome the Pioneers of Simon Kenton (6-5) to Shelbyville Rd. on Friday night for some second round 6A playoff football action. Trinity is coming off a blowout win vs Great Crossing in the first round. The Rocks are riding a four-game winning streak with each of those contests being running clocks. Simon Kenton beat Oldham County 31-9 in the first round. Friday will be the seventh meeting between the two programs all-time. Trinity leads the series 6-0 with the last meeting having been in 2022 and was also a second round playoff game.

The Trinity Shamrocks welcome the Warhawks of Great Crossing to Shelbyville Rd. on Friday night for the opening round of the 6A playoffs. Jay Cobb's Shamrocks, the two-time defending 6A champs, had a bye to end the regular season. Trinity breezed through district play and is unbeaten in the state of Kentucky. Great Crossing enters the playoffs on a five-game losing streak and has just one win on the year (55-36 vs Dunbar on Sep. 19th). Senior RB Luke Ballard is an exciting player for them and leads 6A in rushing.

Trinity (7-2) welcomes Oldham County (5-3) to Marshall Stadium on Friday in what will be the regular season finale for the Shamrocks. Trinity coming off a 37-0 win over Eastern in which they locked up the district title. The Colonels fell to Ballard 0-22 on Friday.

The Trinity Shamrocks (6-2, 1-0 district) will host the Eastern Eagles (1-6, 1-0 district) on Friday night in what will be the second district game for both squads. Trinity is coming off a 35-3 win at Ballard while Eastern fell 15-7 at home vs Oldham County on Friday. The Eagles' lone win on the season is a 25-22 OT W at Wayne County in late September. Friday will be the 50th all-time meeting between the two programs. Trinity has a dominant leads in the series at 47-2 and has a won the last 31 meetings.

Rocks move to 1-0 in district play, as expected. Eastern and Oldham County both at Marshall Stadium to end the regular season.

Was at IMG as a middle schooler but coming back to Louisville and to Trinity for HS. A talent in his class will be interested to see the impact he makes at Trinity. Does he get varsity minutes and if so how many?

This should be a highly competitive game and I think the X defense will give Manual a lot of problems. But with Trimble injured and likely out for this one, I'll take the Crimsons.

Rocks started really slow but put it together and had control late. The Johnson pick sealed the deal. Trinity is 0-2 in Cincy this season versus two very good opponents in Moeller and St. Xavier. District play now begins with Ballard next week then Eastern and Oldham County.

In the talks have had with folks around Louisville, this is somewhat the main comment I've heard. Schools now have to have somebody to run the game clock, official book (which in many cases is a coach or other school employee), as well as a shot clock operator. Just adds another position needed to be filled at the table.

This series, which dates back to 2005, is knotted at 14-14. DeSales has not beaten CAL since that 2019 2OT victory. Bischoff is a great player and runs that DeSales offense well. He and the Colts DESERVE more attention. However, while I'd love to see DeSales win I just don't see it happening as CAL may have too much talent for the Colts to stay in this one. CAL is the best team DeSales will face all season.

On Friday night, the Holy Cross Cougars welcome the Sayre Spartans to Dixie Highway for what could be an exciting 1A battle. Holy Cross sits at 4-1 and is coming off a bye week. They are on a two-game winning streak, having taken down Jeffersontown and Bullitt Central following their lone loss vs rival DeSales. The Cougars offense has revolved around the running game with QB Jerek Hoover being a dual-threat guy. Sayre is 4-1 and coming off a 26-0 win over Newport. QB Gage Pennington had 510 yards and six TDs through four games (no Newport stats yet) to lead the Spartans. Hampton Monday is his top target. This will be the first-ever meeting between these two programs.

The Trinity Shamrocks will make their second trip to Cincinnati this season on Friday when they take on the St. Xavier (Ohio) Bombers. Trinity (5-1) is coming off their biggest win of the season, having taken down arch rival St. Xavier 35-24 inside Cardinal Stadium on Friday night. The Bombers (4-2) fell to Elder (Ohio) by a score of 23-13 on Friday night. Series History: Trinity and St. Xavier (Ohio) have met 14 times in history with the first meeting having been in 1958. The Shamrocks and Bombers are knotted at 7-7 in the series but Trinity has won each of the last six meetings. That includes a win over the Bombers during each of the last four seasons, putting Jay Cobb at 4-0 against St. X (Ohio). Through their six games, Trinity had built an identity based around running the football but has got their passing game going in recent weeks which includes a 289-yard, three TD game from Zane Johnson in the rivalry game Friday night. Trinity's D-line has been a strength of the defense and a big disruptor from week to week. I don't know too much about Cincy X this year but they do have three highly regarded, P4-bound seniors LBs Jakobe Clapper (Notre Dame) and Aden Reeder (Wisconsin), as well as ATH Daniel Vollmer (Vanderbilt). Vollmer was their starting QB last season.

How I wish we could get back to the days of 20,00 or so.

Looking through the scoreboard and this one jumped out at me. Anyone have any info on this game? The Bulldogs of Fairdale took down the Chargers of Jeffersontown on the road in a 5A district 4 battle. Fairdale now 2-4 and J-Town 3-3.

Estimated attendance was around 16,00 from what I've heard.

First and foremost, it goes down as a win and one against your arch rival. The Rocks got it done and came out with the 11-point victory. However, a very sloppy game. Penalties hurt as well as turnovers. Overall, I liked how Trinity put it together and was able to give themselves a cushion for the win. Johnson and the passing game looked good. Watching the battle in the trenches was fun. X defended the run very well and I though the T O-line struggled at times. On defense however, the Rocks line was clicking all game and have Trimble and the Tigers some trouble as expected. I believe those are the top two teams in 6A without a doubt. Do we get a rematch in the postseason?

Trinity won the Freshman game 14-7 tonight at St. X Rocks move to 2-0 on pride week.

I'd have to say far as defensive lines are concerned, Trinity might have the best in the state.

Schooler had a lot of success at Fern Creek and put together some really good teams during his time there. Like this addition by Haworth and Male.
