  1. He played first quarter Went down with knee injury.
  2. Said in summer ball(I know you can't trust summer ball) they had no size other than the couple of kids on the bench that were maybe freshman. They looked like they were playing pickup ball--no plays, no cohesiveness, nothing. And yes they may pick it up by post season but I don't think so, saw em last week and to me they don't have a floor leader. I will see them play again tomorrow--I will update then. Still say region comes down to DCA and Somerset
  3. Mcclendon for Harlan is offensive machine, let him get hot and he will torch a team by his self. The best pure offensive player in the 13th year.
  4. Great list. I think you gotta switch 3 and 4 but otherwise spot on. Corbin continues to play a somewhat watered down schedule. Paris will be cake in the CFI although Webb should be a good matchup because they have the size to neutralize Worley. Bell also isn't playing anyone but they are winning in convincing fashion. Come tourney time though Corbin is def in the 3 hole but not just yet. As far as the transfer coming to SL I'm not sure he helps because they have 2 good players in those positions already but we shall see(I hope it works for the kid though since he is a senior). HC is def in the catbird seat although SL for the 2nd year in a row gave them a regular season struggle.
  5. Absolutely agree. They are the only 2 teams playing any kind of schedule.
  6. What is your thoughts now after every one has played a few more games? Honestly I see 2 teams right now(granted maybe not at the end of the year) that are well above. The SOS while helping with win lose is not helping several of the teams
  7. He is one of the best offensive players in Ky. Factor in the size with the shooting ability and he is tough. They have good team around him as well.
  8. I don't know about their high school program, but I know they have a really good group of middle school kids coming up right now....so maybe building something for the next couple of years anyway.
  9. I wasn’t coming at you or anything over the statement of fact lol. I was just saying that they are much improved over what I thought they would be and looked very good over a Lincoln team that several people in the 12th region forum expect to contend for a region title. I didn’t realize they where that bad of a team
  10. After watching DCA get absolutely hammered by Harlan County and watching a half of Rockcastle I think Rock may be underrated Hazard was physical with Mercer and they didn't respond to it
  11. They just manhandled a Lincoln County team at the GJ Smith classic in London. Def not the same team as last year. Other than Chadwell they all look like a rec center team but they play like a big dog.
  12. And Lincoln just got beat by 20 by a KC team that won 4 games last year(although much improved)
  13. Saw Mercer play last night in the GJ Smith classic, only scored 34 points and looked very much like deers in the headlights. Hazard played a physical game and dominated them. Honestly Mercer unless they have several players that didn't play(and I recognized most) has no chance to win a regional championship. Barnes and T Ellis where the only ones who looked ready to play. Granted Hazard plays a very physical brand of ball, Mercer was extremely sloppy.
  14. The Nationselite post reminded me of you and your opinions on twitter(X). Have a great thanksgiving
  15. Me personally, I've not put any stock in the Nations Elite rankings, as my children would say "They are do-do butter". They have the "Nate in sports" vibe to me. Take 4 other polls-get your information--add a couple of unknowns--and throw it against the wall lol. Too each his own though
  16. Yeah, he played. He shot well but SL didn't get him the ball enuff although they where pretty rattled by SK ball pressure. And SK will def be a perimeter based team.
  17. #10 had a great game for SK, very good pressure D and shot the ball well from the perimeter. SL had their way inside--just didn't get it in there much. Floor was extremely slick for both teams--lots of sliding.
  18. Mitchell will have Knox back to respectability and should be the #2 in the district-will fullcourt press a bunch. Could be the funnest team to watch in the 13th. And the Arena is one of the better venues to watch a ballgame in the state--just to many dang steps lol.
  19. A very Good list but Rawlings at NL has transferred to SL. In my opinion Corbin or SL wins the region. On paper HC is the pick but One on one play from jumpshooters never translates well to the Arena(see last years flameout). Corbin has a good core group but I don't know for sure where the scoring comes from consistently although will prob be Pietrowski and SL has the 2nd best player in the Region in Mabe--no one affects the game more than him. Clay made a great pickup from the coaching perspective but I don't know if the players are going to mesh together well enough to win the region. NL has lost to much--You are asking a kid who averaged 2.7 ppg last year to lead a team, not going to happen in my opinion. They will not beat clay for district. Jackson County has the best size plus a good shooter in Summers, they could challenge NL for the #2 position in the district. Best players in the Region---Noah(HC), Mabe(SL), Mcclendon(Harlan), Thompson(Pineville), Harris(Clay), Huff(HC), Pietrowski(Corbin), Summers(Jackson), Chadwell(KC),Burnett(Bell), Worley(Corbin).
  20. On the 18th West Jessamine hosts South Laurel in a battle of 2 of the youngest teams in the state.
  21. They have great size and look very imposing coming off the bus........but gameplay??? They couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat. The newest one I haven't seen but the returning big kid is long, that's all the good I can say regarding talent. Although he may have improved a bunch since last year.....
  22. Max can shoot you in or shoot you out of a game. When he gets hot he's scary, when not he can take some really bad shots, but someone that settles for bad 20 footers is not a dog. When he shoots in rhythm or off a shoot and kick he is money. But I don't see many jumpshooters taking over games. He is a specialist(damn good one though). He will be the POY....but not a dog
  23. Mitch will do a good job with Knox if they don't kill him with expectations. He did a good job in getting a 1 year rental back from North Laurel to anchor their post area but otherwise the talent is very young. He will press from beginning till end. 10 wins is the ceiling but look out in a couple years if they give him a chance....
