Boyle County vs Paducah Tilghman. .that's the playoff game to see...must see.

I think we all maybe waiting on the next week which features Mayfield Cardinals vs Murray Tigers for a whole lot of marbles....can't wait...

Crittenden County has no chance..Murray is not looking past but looking forward to the home showdown with Mayfield...Murray has some sneaky best statistics in 2A with their QB and 2 WR..also they have a really good coach that knows how to prepare his team for their opponents...

Mayfield has the perfect game to get on track because last game was not good. Its time to start looking like a real contender and get ready for what looks like a real showdown with the Murray Tigers...

Didn't say they didn't have talent but if you compare them to recent Mayfield teams this team is not as talented...let's play this year with hope and confidence but 2A at top is too much this year...Owensboro, Beechwood clear cut then pick your own order Mayfield, LCA and Murray can shoot it out for 3rd...semi would be great for this team especially if its not a blow out but it will definitely be on the road...GO CARDS..

Atwell will probably bring it home but the only one that has a legit say is Beechwood..let's stop kidding ourselves about the 2A state championship this year...only injuries can derail their chances or Beechwood from challenging them otherwise no one else realistically has a chance...

You say I have a thing for Murray because of some post I made last year about a certain ex murray player that definitely helped Mayfield win the state but I am a truthful Mayfield and football fan that recognizes talent etc and know what it takes to win a state championship from a player perspective...This Mayfield team is going to have trouble winning state this year bc they're not as good as the past 2 Mayfield teams that was state runner up and won state last year...with 2 defeats already we're going to travel if can get past Murray in second round...Owensboro with Atwell, Beechwood with all their play speedy playmakers, Murray with their coach and hitting stride already and now LCA with their size and hitting their stride and we keep talking about Mayfield playing a clean game, dropping passes and playing very inconsistent makes it be a tall task for this Mayfield team...just telling Datruth from my perspective..go CARDS...

If everyone played a clean game wow what would scores be in all these games.... I think MC dropped a potential TD pass was also in the redzone once and came away with no points...at the end of the day it comes down to talent which this Mayfield team doesn't have compared to teams in the past. I remember playing WR in high school and not dropping a pass all year. Dropping and catching passes is about talent...it was a good game to watch as mentioned, the England kid right now is worth the price of admission. These Hoptown and MC games the past few years have been cake walk and people thought MC was going to be another cake walk which all is evidence this Mayfield is a little less talented as teams in past...still go Cards, keep building just may have to wait to next year to be competitive with top teams in 2A such as Murray, Beechwood and OCath...

Two 200 yard games out of 4 games as a sophomore is pretty darn impressive. Shaping up to be one of the best sophomore RB Mayfield has had..at this point hes all the offense Mayfield has especially as their biggest threat...Mayfield has no outside speed that 3 of the 4 teams had in Acree, Falconite and any of PT receivers that can just flat out run a fly route and get past the defense. Mayfield played a decent game and MC surely had their chances...no picking the score as most thought Mayfield would. Tie game in 4th quarter was not good....I am just not sure if this Mayfield team can beat Murray, BW or OC..could be a early exit this year for cards but something to build on for next year...still go CARDS...

I have seen Paducah's strength which is their passing game and return game and I have seen Mayfield's weakness which is their pass defense and as bad as I hate to say it or see it, tonight its just a matter of when its going to happen. Paducah has way too much speed and skill for this Mayfield team...

Interesting comments from a Boyle County fan. If and when they play Paducah in the playoffs that will be a game worth 2 prices of admission no matter where its played....Hopefully playing rivals such as McCracken and Mayfield and playing a good Graves team who beat Mayfield will prepare them for that game...less than 48 hours to game time, can't wait to see this juggernaut of a team in Paducah and this Mayfield team that is actually not down this year...Could actually be a good game depending on who you're cheering for...

55 to 6 is the vote in favor of Paducah at the moment and they broke the streak last year and got a juggernaut of a team at the moment and we're all just hoping Mayfield can keep it close as all opponents on the schedule are basically playing for respect...Well enough is said as to why the thread is quite and either see you at the game or see the game on red helmet...

This cannot be Mayfield vs Tilghman week because its way too quite in this chat compared to years past especially last year!

It was not a good game for the Mayfield Cardinals and yes sloppy is a good way to describe it...Mayfield's office is even more predictable than in past if I can say that but it consists of screen, screen and more screens...bright spot is no doubt the England kid at running back now its just time to put that running game together against better competitors. Big difference between Graves and Hopkinsville but he's gonna be pretty good..

Well its probably going to be a running clock next week for Mayfield...this game will be men among boys...Too much size, speed and athleticism for PT but I will save my comments for that thread whenever it comes out....

Mayfield will not lose this game nor will they be looking past Hopkinsville and looking forward towards Paducah and fall into a trap. I think they can name the score as always. A good game to bounce back from after the loss to Graves...

I didn't verbally pick Graves in the thread but I did pick them in the poll. I also asked the ? in the 2A thread how can anyone pick Mayfield number 1 in 2A after all they lost from last years team including their legendary coach. I also agree that Graves is at least 2 td better and would win more games in a series. Infact Graves actually lead by 2 tds most of the game until the bad snap possession early in 4th quarter. Graves tried to give this game away but to their credit they took it back and won. A normal Mayfield team onced the game was tied would win. Mayfield has more issues than dropped passes they have serious secondary issues and teams with speed ie Graves, Paducah, Mccracken, BW and OC are going to give them trouble. This is not the normal speedy Mayfield team they have had in the past. Not alot of separation from their receivers and Graves receivers ran right by Mayfield corners...Congratulations to Graves and best of luck the rest of the season to both teams..

Its no way you can rank Mayfield higher than Beechwood with their awesome QB, all the play makers coming back and that speed evidence of them winning 100 meters, 200 meters and one of the relay state championship. Or higher than Owensboro Catholic with their all world QB and the transfers that came in..both played a much better last year Mayfield team to the wire last year. Then factor in all that Mayfield lost including their legendary head coach...I like Mayfield but just not this year (next year)...they will be out by 3rd round and forsure in the semis by losing big to one of these teams....mark this prediction down to revisist in November. This team mirrors the 2021 team that lost big to Beechwood in the semis.

I may have missed this in some comments but do anyone know the time and place of this scrimmage as I am starting to really itch about going...any information would be greatly appreciated...

I do not care what they allow the QBs to do, as long as they can throw the ball is all that matters...This one is still worth any price of admission. By far the one of the best scrimmages on the schedule. 2 potential state champs with Mr. Kentucky candidates on the teams and with athletes that have already committed to college for football and baseball. This is must see especially for a pure fan of football...this scrimmage should be full of action offensively and defensively....

As a pure football fan...This one is worth going and see...if all possible I may try to seriously make this one.

First hats off to OC they played a heck of a game. But Mayfield, got to give it to you. As someone has already said Mayfield has played 3 caliber state championship teams within 3 weeks and yes it was obvious that Mayfield and their FANS was running on fumes and if you throw in the Murray game that's actually 4 helluva teams. Congrats to Mayfield very well deserved...

Xavier Biggers will be the 3rd generation of Biggers to play for a state championship for Mayfield. His grandfather was on Mayfields first 2 state championship teams in 1977 and 1978 with 78 team going 13-0 undefeated and considered by most in Mayfield as the best team in Mayfields history and ranked number 1 that year by Litenhouse. Father played in state championship game with the team going into state championship game 14-0 but got handled pretty good by Middleboro I believe in 2000?. HOPEFULLY the state championship will only skip over 1 generation and he will help Mayfield get back on top after several missed opportunities....this is a pretty cool feat and awesome that 3 generations will be playing in state championship game for Mayfield...good luck Cards.
