Personally they have been building toward a run for a few years and are a year ahead of schedule. They’ll need to add a starter and reliever to make the playoffs but it isn’t worth giving up the pieces you’ve been developing and could use for many years past this. With that said, I see them making the playoffs and winning the central.

Now that Cal knows what he needs, I expect to see 2-3 transfers in the coming weeks. Someone like Kaluma from Creighton and Jones from St. John’s. Cal always uses a short bench anyway so he will roll with the 10 he has.

Lots of talk today about trading a piece to make room for the prospects. Biggest talk of what to do with India… McLain’s natural position is second and EDLC’s natural position is SS. You have CES who can play 3rd but prefers to play first. Already have a young Steer up who plays the same. What do you do with the log jam in the infield? Personally I keep them all as long as I can. This should be Votto’s last season and you can play CES or Steer as your next 1st basemen and it will work out.

Don’t get why he isn’t in the Reds lineup right now. If it’s his fielding, make him DH and bat him 4th or 5th. He seems like a prime candidate to move to the outfield but either way, if the Reds are going to build, why not do it with the best prospect in baseball getting reps.

1 run game in the 9th and the Reds use Bracho and Busenitz out of the pen. Yanks score 3, no chance for a rally. That shows where the Reds stand in trying to win games.

I like the change. College women play this way. Gives a reset instead of teams spending entire quarters in the double bonus and teams needing to foul 5+ times to get the bonus at the end. Makes coaches have more strategy handling foul trouble as well.

The first step to seeing how good the rebuild was. McLain and Williamson this week, soon you’ll seen EDLC and CES get their shot. Makes me excited.
