If Belfry wins this game, they win state for the 3rd year in a row. WOW can't believe I'm saying that.

This is definately not the best team in the last 20 years, it is the best team since 2001. As for BMR being considered for coach of the year, yes I would agree with that. This team is running a TOTALLY different offense than what they did last year, going from the belly read to this years run and gun offense was a MAJOR change. I have the upmost respect for David LeMaster, but I don't see him winning 9 or 10 games this year, 7 at the most.

Johnson Central losing was a big shock to me.

You are wrong about that. Brandon Peters beat Huffman last year nearly every time they ran the 100 last year.

Yes you are correct, that Prestonsburg team was loaded with seniors, that as Juniors was beaten out in the Semis (of state not the region :sssh: ) and then the next year we went to state. That Leslie Co. team was loaded with Juniors, and they were supposed to contend for a state title the next year with Chris Barger and Co. but never quiet panned out. I watched Leslie Co. twice last year, and they are going to have to improve greatly to contend for a state title. They have no Justin Haddix's, Doug Howard's, David Jones's or as I like to call GAME BREAKERS. Morgan has a nice arm, but he let a weak Middlesboro( by MHS standards that is) beat him to death last year. As other posters have already stated you must have a defense. I sat at the Middlesboro game, and called every play that MHS was going to run, and Leslie couldn't stop it. Now surely the coaches at Leslie know as much football as I do, and could tell their players where to go. So let's see from my observations of last year's team. They have * No GAMEBREAKERS (sorry Morgan fans, he'll have to do a little more to impress me) * A suspect Defense * No depth * And no consistancy to the offense ( 3 and out a majority of the time) You all can talk about the mindset all you want to, but goto Betsy Layne High School and watch a few games, I've been on their sideline before and they believe they are going to win everytime they take the field. But that won't get you anything but a cup of water. (I'm not bashing BL I'm just making a point). Fact is Leslie Co. fan's you can rest assure if your Eagles aren't as good as you say they are then you are gonna "have some splainin to do". Because after all this HYPE, they better be darn good. Keep in mind guys, I'm not trying to bash Leslie Co. at all, I've known their head coach for quiet some time. I'm just tired of hearing all this Leslie Co. stuff, when last year they did nothing impressive.

Leslie Co. didn't beat Pburg that year. Pburg beat them 33-0.

Leslie will never have a better team that the teams with Couch. Plain and simple.

You all are really to kind. I never expected the kind of respones that I have received. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all soo much. For so many people to think as highly of me as you all do, its a real honor, and truly a gift from God. Your kind words have touched my heart and hopefully one day I can express the same kind words to you all, but right now I am really almost speechless. I thank you all again from the deepest depths of my heart, and may God bless you all.

I'm a senior at Prestonsburg high school. I played in my last game of my high school career friday night at legendary Vipperman Stadium, against our schools biggest rival in the Belfry Pirates. Over the last 4 years, we played Belfry on the varsity level 6 times. And each time they were wars, and each time I walked away respecting Belfry ..........as bad as I hated them. Even though my career as a Blackcat Football player has finally came to an end, I'm glad that if it had to come to an end before i wanted it to........that it was against a classy team like the Belfry Pirates. Friday night was one of those games that live for as a football player. The stadium was filled, both bands were playing.....it couldn't get any better. It had a magical feel to it, and I enjoyed every minute of it. I just wanted to thank you fans, from both schools, for making my last night as a football player at PHS, one that i will never forget. It would have been great if we'd won, but I can honestly say that I've never enjoyed playing a game of football than I did friday night. IT WAS AWESOME. To the blackcat faithful, thank you for making my dreams come true. Thank you for screaming and yelling through the rain and cold, through wins and losses. It's been one of heck of a ride these last 4 years. There really isn't any better fans in the world then the ones living in Prestonsburg Kentucky. It was an honor to wear the Red and Black these last 4 years, and I'm glad I had people like you all cheering me on. Good luck Belfry in the Regional finals..... Take state for this Blackcat. #6

I personally love playing at Belfry. That is the loudest place i've ever played at ( including state championship). I guess its where we are down in a valley. It is just like being in a college stadium.
