Again, I only watched them in person once and they got gashed to the tune of around 300 yards on the ground. However, that is the only game all year that they have given up more than 18 points. If you remove that 40 point game then they are giving up under 10 points a game. That sounds like a pretty good defense no matter who you've played.

I'm cautious on this Brossart team. I only watched them against Lloyd, but I was shocked that they went on a 6 game win streak. If you would have told me they would have finished the season losing 6 in a row I would not have been surprised. The opponents Brossart have played since Lloyd are not on the same level as Paintsville I don't think. Brossart is well coached and won't make mistakes, but I'm not sure they have the horses to make it anything more than 'close'

Word from Newport is Walton's QB didn't play the last drive or two. Hopefully, if this is true, it was nothing serious. He is certainly a playmaker and I'm not sure WV could stop an eventual running clock in this one without him. I like Lloyd regardless, but Lloyd BIG if #2 isn't out there for Walton.

Well, at least the 4 playoff teams per district people got one good game it seems. Hard fought season for the Wildcats. Cannot wait to see how this Lloyd Walton matchup plays out next week

I wouldn't be surprised if District 6 in 2A has at least 3 teams advancing.

I'm not sure if I feel a clean sweep by District 6, but I do believe either Newport or Holy Cross pulls the seeding upset. Holy Cross is feel is more likely.

I expect a Walton win, but will not be shocked to see the Wildcats pull this one off.

So looks like it would be Shelby Valley at Beechwood and Breathitt at Lloyd if that is the four.

Is the Breathitt County/Knox Central game not factored in to the W/L for some reason? I see the game reported in the results, but it doesn't seem to have changed the W/L column

Can Shelby Valley regain position on Breathitt County? Since Walton is on a bye, would both pass WV with a win? I think most are assuming a Lloyd victory over Walton, but if WV pulls out the win. Will that mean they have to make a short trip to Beechwood as their reward?

I believe the only chances are Beechwood loss to NCC, Owensboro Catholic winning + a ton of OWP/OOWP help for OC to pass Beechwood. Or the other unlikely scenario of Lexington Christian losing tonight, Lloyd getting OWP/OOWP help staying above LCA in the RPI, then having LCA beat Mayfield in the 3rd. So yeah, if Lloyd makes it, you'll be seeing them in Fort Mitchell

I expect Holmes to put up a couple long touchdowns and it being close but Lloyd coming out on top

The Lloyd dynamic comes in to play for all 3 games, albeit not as much for the other two. Montgomery County and Dixie both have Lloyd on the schedule so it will affect Scott and Rowan's OOWP

2A - I believe you had it showing that it wasn't impossible for OCath to pass Beechwood. However unlikely it may be.. paired with a potential 3rd round matchup of Mayfield/LCA. Could we see Mayfield making the trip to Ft Mitchell and Lloyd going to Owensboro? Disclaimer - I am a fan of chaos. I think this could be the most chaos we could see without a big upset. 6A - looking at all NKY teams. Curious to see what a 3rd round matchup looks like there if/when a NKY team makes it. Edited to add disclaimer.

Not an RPI expert by any means, but certainly curious to see the projections of the 7-9 spots and 2-4. A Mayfield/LCA matchup in round 3 could shake some things up I would think.
