That will depend on the Lloyd/East Carter game too. There are a few games throughout the state that you can write in winners with permanent marker but not many in 3A. Central vs CAL may be the only matchup we are assured of in round 3. The rest all depend on each other.

@16thBBall Fan can you give any insight to the East Carter and Fleming game being only a 4 point victory for EC? Score comparisions make this seem like Lloyd should win easily, but you know how that method of prediction goes.

In the third round it splits the state East/West. Whichever two is left from District 2 and the two NKY teams will be seeded by RPI 1v4 2v3. Which means that if Bethlehem wins Newport would be 2 and NCC 3.

Absolutely not. Ludlow will be ready to avenge that lose for sure. I was just responding to Breds82's question about the potential matchups. For that matter I'm sure Dayton isn't going to lay down either. The RPI matchups would be the same for Ludlow or Newport winning, except NewCath would host Ludlow. I'm not sure anybody on this side of the State wants to see Campbellsville right now, so that KCD/Bethlehem game will have eyes on it in NKY.

East Carter is the one seed in their district and Lloyd is the two in theirs.

The Bethlehem/KCD game is going to be the deciding factor. Bethlehem wins then NewCath at Newport. If KCD wins then NewCath goes to Campbellsville and Newport to KCD

When I watched Lloyd play Bethlehem earlier this year I thought they would for sure be a 1 or 2 seed.. then I noticed they may be in one of the toughest districts regardless of class. Congrats on the great win.

I think Sebastian has a big game tonight in all facets of the game. Evans back at QB brings this offense to life and allows Sebastian to play a more natural position to him. If Lloyd does not win this game by at least 3 scores then I'll have to reaccess my opinion of their team this year

Newport actually played a home game against Lloyd at Highlands during the Schlarman years before turf was installed at Newport

I think there should be a time frame where there is no punishment. However I heard that Trimble County was still debating on playing or not as of yesterday. Regardless of if that is true or not, if a team is preparing to play their game and then you bow out of the playoffs then I wouldn't necessarily be against a punishment. Depending on how severe of course Edit- just seeing the thread that Trimble did in fact withdraw.

I think for another "Cinderella" run out of the Juggs we will need to see either two teams from District 7 or two from District 8 make round 3

I think Lloyd would be the underdog in both. Rock did go to Bell County and win this year, but historically that's a place you'd rather not have to go to. I also don't place as much stock in the Lloyd dismantling by LexCath. Lloyd could not have played a worse game regardless of opponent. I think Lloyd is in for a fight against in round 3/4 against anyone not in the Big 3, but the games are winnable.

I think it comes down to who can avoid LexCath the longest. I may have slight homerism here, but I don't see Fleming or East Carter beating Lloyd and CalPreps agrees. That said, RPI this week is going to be huge for the Juggs. They are neck and neck with LexCath right now, and while I don't think it will make that much of a difference in Round 3, potentially in round 4 we may see two teams not named Central/CAL/LC playing for a chance at going to State. The Bell County/Belfry game also plays a big factor too. Belfry wins and it'll set up most likely LexCath and Lloyd rematch. Bell County wins then it'll depend on how RPI finishes to see who goes to Bell and who goes to Rockcastle

I am sure it has been awhile, but they haven't been playing 5 district games in a year either. This is not me saying that it will hurt them, just that I hope it doesn't.

They have two weeks to get it ready, anyone in the know on how likely that is? With the sister districts this could pair up with Newport making round 3 correct? I believe they would matchup with Ludlow in the second round. It was a close game bit znewport did win that one. How long has it been since Newport played for a regional championship?

I'm sure they are hating having to play half of their games in this district. Hope they are still hitting full cylinder come round 3/4

Curious to see the stats from this one. I know it was another inferior opponent but he had to have had over 200 yards. For someone that hasn't had a big time varsity snap since week one of his freshman year that's big.

I've been looking at it as well, for the Lloyd potential playoff matchups. If the four teams end up as Bell County, Rock, Lloyd and LexCath in that order, wouldn't Rock host Lloyd and Bell host LC?

Definitely became obvious. I think a few factors make it a closer game but nothing to overcome 41 points.
