  1. Don’t get too upset. It’s basically the same place with a different name. “Tickle my Pickle” or something. That’s the sad part.

  3. Play where you live or go to private school. And have extremely strict rules for tuition “students”. Draw district maps for every public primary, middle and high school. Redraw them every 10 years based on population migration, and you play where you fall. With exceptions for students who are affected by the district changes.
  4. Explain to me the issue. I don’t fully understand Kenton County’s districting and who can go to what high school. Are kids simply choosing to go to Simon Kenton and Dixie over Scott? It seems like an impossible task to even start building a program if kids aren’t obligated to attend the school of the district they live in. I know many are all for school choice but I am not. Adults make choices when they purchase a home (or rent) and should factor in the school district when doing so. I 100% think all public schools should be districted and the cornerstone of a community. If you don’t like it, move.
  5. I don’t recall that. I remember some asking if this was a make or break year. I think anyone who was on the side saying that it shouldn’t take more than 3 yrs to “rebuild” at Highlands, we’re all still hoping for, and expecting, the best. Myself included. I think the team today is a completely different version of what it was to start the season, no question. It’s been great to see them come around to going under center more and committing to the run game in a more traditional sense, instead of everything out of shotgun and the spread. That’s what people wanted to see, and now have. It’s paid dividends. There is still more to be settled on the field but they are definitely where I and many others hoped and expected. Job well done.
  6. Good game. Glad the Birds got to settle the score on an even playing field.
  7. That doesn’t seem to be the model this year anyway. Seems like starters stay in til the 4th regardless of the score.
  8. It’s too hard to determine the best unless it’s blatantly obvious. I personally don’t think anyone in NKY has accomplished that. Alexander is a stud. But I’m not sure I see a huge difference in his skill set and some other guys who have come through NKY without his last name or famous uncle, that didn’t get those kinds of offers. The fact that he’s a Power 5 lock and Benke can’t get a single D1 offer is absolutely baffling to me. If Benke was strictly a TE, H-Back or WR, he’d be putting up similar receiving numbers, and probably be a killer DE in the process. But he’s the guy they need at QB and can’t play both sides of the ball. He’s proven to be an absolute monster at a position he’s probably not even going to play at the next level and that is impressive. Whether he’s the best or not, he needs more looks and I believe he’ll get them. I’d want him on my team.
  9. Obviously I meant odd man out of the 1v2 game. If they do get the 3, it would be nice to see them play all the backups, who’s season actually is ending. Most of the starters are all going to continue to dress varsity for the playoffs.
  10. I don’t think freshman football is important enough to require a 4 team playoff. There are a lot of variables in play that determine the outcomes. Some kids play up, some teams use it as developmental, some teams want to put up as many points as possible. Adding this one game between the two best records is better than nothing. If it’s a coin flip and highlands is the odd man out, it is what it is. They many not even care. I would assume they don’t, or they wouldn’t have worn their best players out right before playing the CovCath game. That said, I would argue that a JV game is even less important than a freshman game, so who knows what the thought process was.
  11. I don’t think Max needs any help. They’ll find him. If Bob is going to throw his weight around, then he needs to get Benke some looks.
  12. Max has picked up an offer from EKU. Many more to come I’m sure. Congrats!
  13. That’s unfortunate for Campbell. Jaidan is a talented kid. Is this a mid-season move? Seems like odd timing.
  14. 51:20 mark of the CovCath game feed. I don’t see anything egregious. They did their punt thing and the returner ran to the 50 on highlands sideline, where they all huddled up. Nothing to see here.
  15. I believe highlands home game hudl streams are public. Not sure when the recording starts but this should be pretty easy to verify if it does pick up warmups. Sounds like something that may have happened on accident. I doubt it’s common practice.
  16. Not sure I follow the part time stuff but yes this is a big year for them. Next year their line will be massive, but they will drop off at the skill positions a bit. The 2025 team will be just as good, if not better, than this years team. Probably going to have one of the biggest lines in the state, a seasoned group of seniors, and an absolutely loaded junior class. Gotta get a chip this season IMO to keep the momentum and avoid chatter, which will come. Especially if they take a step back next season.
  17. I hate seeing the Bulldogs in this state. I feel terrible for the kids who do show up and want to play, and the families who invest their time in the team. That community has a ton of potential and it’s a shame that they don’t recognize it, or are unable to tap into it. I don’t know how you fix it but I’d love to see it happen.
  18. Highlands and not close. They now look like the team most expected to see this season. I’ve been saying for years that they wouldn’t lose a game in 2023. So of course CovCath played the spoiler ?, but I really don’t see it happening again.
  19. If I’m correctly picking up what you’re putting down, does that mean there is an excessive number of freshmen?
  20. I’m talking about something entirely different. Calling up Frosh who don’t practice with or play varsity, for the sole purpose of hindering their ability to transfer.
  21. I like this idea for one main reason. I have heard that coaches calling up freshmen and playing them for 2 snaps to “lock them in” is an actual thing. Disgusting, but apparently a practice that some employ. I would like to see that not be a factor in where a player ultimately ends up his sophomore year.
  22. Not sure if you meant to say caliber of play or caliber of player. But that ‘92 team (which was stacked), and the players on it, were ancient history by ‘94. ‘93 was a disaster and I want to say half the junior class walked off and quit during a summer workout. Dale inherited a dumpster fire, but got people excited again, increased turnout, and did it quickly.
