  1. Is he the one that reclassified in 7th grade?
  2. And maybe that’s all it is. But for people to say “just let the kid play ball”, is ridiculous. He can play all the ball he wants right now, at Beechwood. Or could have I suppose. But he chose to leave. And whether people like it or not, that's going to render you ineligible. It’s a pretty simple concept. Why the KHSAA initially said he could, we may never know. But it seems pretty cut and dry to me. He transferred, he sits.
  3. If the rule says if you transfer, you sit, then yes. He has to give sports up for one season. Or stay put. Actions have consequences. He could have gone to CovCath instead of Beechwood originally, but he didn’t. That’s how this works.
  4. Consistency would be great. Didn’t Geisler have to sit out his sophomore football season at Highlands?
  5. Someone, or the son of someone, who’s looking for something more. He can stay at Beechwood and “just” play ball. He can attend his district school and “just” play ball. There’s more to it than folks are letting on. And it’s why he’s now ineligible. As he should be, per the rules.
  6. Probably what he should have been doing all along. Let’s not pretend this is just some kid wanting to play ball. Pick a school and stay there or put your house on the market and move. It’s not that hard.
  7. Any updates on EKU? How are NKY teams performing?
  8. 29-7 Pikeville. I’m fascinated by the Pikeville playing surface. Is that Astroturf? Looks like it’s hard as a rock and I don’t see any pellets kicking up under their feet.
  9. This is great to see, he deserves it!
  10. Congrats to both teams. Turkeyfoot is the only team who has given Highlands a test this season and they have nothing to hang their heads about. It was a great atmosphere and the boys played their hearts out. Highlands and Dixie fans should be very excited about what’s coming.
  11. I am happy to commend Ryle on their win, they were by far the superior team. No excuses to be made from Highlands. I think you would have had more of that type of discussion on here had it not been for how the game ended. If folks don’t know, the Highlands player was motionless for maybe 15 minutes, the game was called, he was removed from the field on a gurney and left the stadium in an ambulance. To your point about the game itself, Highlands looked uninspired, sloppy, and the players never appeared to be on the same page. Ryle was the complete opposite and it showed. Congrats.
  12. I’m not saying it was identical. But he takes about two or 3 steps, squares up his feet, plants them and leads with his chest and arms. He didn’t drive through the kid. The first one had a running start and launched at the highlands players head. My point is they are not the same play.
  13. The first was a helmet to helmet launch. The second was by a kid a foot taller than the defender and he hit him with his chest. It looked more like a screen in basketball. They are not the same play. If you want to call them both illegal blindside blocks, okay.
  14. The officials agreed, immediately ejected him, and took his name from Ryle’s coach. I’m just glad to hear the Highlands player avoided a more serious injury.
  15. I know that’s why he’s not playing qb. My point was that they haven’t missed a beat and that tells me they have good depth at the position.
  16. NKMSAA playoffs start Saturday.
  17. This can not be overstated! Thank you!
  18. There are 8th graders playing freshman ball at places other than Beechwood, see Highlands. I’m not here to tout Highlands or a bunch of 13 year olds. But on paper, this group has not lost to another NKY school in 2 years, and in all likelihood will have back to back undefeated NKMSAA seasons a week or two from now, with no games this season being close. That’s all.
  19. Weren’t they all 7th graders last year tho? They lost to both highlands and covcath and didn’t make the NKMSAA playoffs. Nothing against them, but I fail to see what has to make them the favorite. Because they play on the freshman football team?
  20. highlands is still the team to beat going into next season.
