I didn’t say in the now, but future wise I feel like it could be, with the right coach, the right mindset, Lincoln County Is a big county, without a city school, if you have the right staff in place, that gets involved not just in high school but middle and youth league, you can really draw interest and their is a ton of kids to pick from in my opinion, it’s there, it just has to be Mined, you can’t be a coach and just expect to come in and coach high school football, you have to be involved in all three levels, just my opinion.

I think this job will have a ton of interest, just because of the track record of the administration, they are really behind the football program, to be honest they are behind every sport, I’m a move in, so i can see it better then people who have been here their whole life most likely, but the support is there, a lot of coaches love to have support and stability, pretty much giving these coaches free rein to do what they need to do and supporting them along the way. I think it’s a better job then Garrard, not even close in my opinion, don’t shoot me down for saying that but I really believe that it is.

Absolutely, couldn’t agree more. I’m on board with any of the names mentioned, but if it happens to be someone else then so be it, support the program and help move the program in the right direction. I have my picks of who I’d like to see, but at the same time I just want someone who will be involved with kids and teach them not only the game of football but the right way to do things, that all Carries us forward in life, support is a huge factor no matter the coach, looking forward to seeing who ultimately ends up with this job, big time class coming in from the middle school who absolutely thrashed Boyle County in the salt River conference, should be exciting next few years for Lincoln!

#GoBigRed stoked to see who ultimately gets the job! I don’t think we can go wrong with any of those guys. Although I’d like to see Jaggers get it and fill his staff with the two who are also candidates, would be really good for everyone involved.

Ok so I’ve missed some stuff, Josh Jaggers name is interesting, if he has applied or is going too Lincoln better take a long look at him, I think it would be a fantastic hire, Josh is a great guy and will get kids to play and put everything he has in developing these kids, bring in Levi as OC and Perry as DC goodness could be a very good staff there. If I’m Lincoln I’m giving what needs to be given and hiring Jaggers.

Levi is the hire for me, if not him Boone Goldsmith would be my next on the list if they wanted to go outside the current coaching staff, wealth of knowledge, and a great guy. Wouldn’t really consider anyone else unless it’s a big time name.

I doubt that happens this year.

Huh? Who’s gonna put them out? South ain’t gonna do it obviously. I don’t see anyone In that region even competing with them to be honest.

Yeah, Spencer asked for that at the board meeting, they all were in agreement that it needed to be extended and bigger, I think their is only one restroom in the field house, which is amazing to me, I couldn’t imagine 60 kids fighting over one restroom lol.

Has anyone heard any details about this? I keep hearing about it and how expensive it is? But is this in the works or is this just all smoke? Hope it is, would be pretty cool to see them get upgrades!

Just my personal experience with football from a parent, more and more kids are opting to play basketball or baseball even, some soccer, for some reason kids aren’t drawn to football like they used to be, my oldest hated it, loves baseball and basketball, I think it’s the contact of the sport, some kids just don’t like it, it isn’t for everyone. I really hope one of my kids decide to play, because I love it. Lol.

I'm not sure if he’s qualified to be a teacher maybe? I know you have to have a certain amount of college to be a teacher right? That would be the only reason I don’t see him getting the job, I know you DON'T have to be a teacher but most schools want you to be a teacher and head coach together, and who knows Levi may have enough college to be a teacher, I really don’t know that much about him personally, just the only reason I could see why they may not offer him the job, I know some schools won’t offer you a head job without teaching at the school as well. I think I would hire him, even if he wasn’t a teacher, I’d hire him regardless, especially him being from there, he’s not going to leave, it’s the best situation for both parties in my opinion.

I had the pleasure of meeting him back in the summer, fantastic guy, I could sit and talk football with him for hours, I think him being interested might be a long shot because he bleeds black and gold, loves Boyle County football, just a name I heard and I also thought like you, it would be a fantastic hire, but there is always that question in the back of our minds, would he return to Boyle if the varsity head coaching job ever came open? My guess would be yes he would.

Boone Goldsmith was a name I’ve heard too, was at Lincoln last year but is the JV coach at Boyle now, not sure he’d leave home for a varsity coaching position or not.

An intriguing name to me is Clay Clevenger, I know I know, he’s been linked to every single job in central Kentucky this offseason, but do we really think he ends up back at Danville? I mean, he has applied for things at Lincoln before, maybe if someone took a chance and grabbed him and how he was done at Danville, maybe he wouldn’t entertain going back to Danville? Just a thought I had, I know I’d atleast reach out to him and gauge his interest, but again, no guarantees he wouldn’t leave either, I think @Hazlett72is right, need a hometown guy to come in and stick around, granted Jeff Jackson isn’t a home town guy he’s just old school, your good to me, ill make it my hometown, they have been good to him and he’s been good to them, it’s a match made in heaven lol. Either way, I’m excited to get this conversation started, hopefully this gets 30 pages instead of 29 ?.

Levi Rogers Would be my pick. But I’m sure their are plenty of others as well.

Levi Rogers. very good guy, can carry on the success that Spencer had, and not much would change, which is a good thing, hope they atleast give him an interview and opportunity.

Sheesh, you guys know a ton of history, we should just have a program history session and let you guys tell us about the different programs history, seriously, this is very informative!

Lincoln needs someone from there, they have had a ton of rollover through out the years, they need someone who isn’t going to leave them, that’s why it would be my only phone call. He’s young, bleeds Lincoln red, and will never leave. Would be a great hire in my opinion ?‍♂️

Keep an eye out on the Lincoln opening, Levi Rogers should be the guy in my opinion, he would be my first and last phone call. Not much changes other than staff if he gets it, still going in the right direction!
