Has anyone heard any details about this? I keep hearing about it and how expensive it is? But is this in the works or is this just all smoke? Hope it is, would be pretty cool to see them get upgrades!

I believe it’s the second phase of the new high school. I’ve heard a new sports complex , new football field and a new basketball gym all at the new high school. That’s just hear say and nothing set in stone.

Been talked about for at least ten years. There is a contingent that want a new gym at the new school and another that prefer it stay at the old gym. There is a contingent that want a new football stadium and another the prefer it stay at the old field in town. There is an absolute need for a soccer field and track. The school would also benefit greatly from an auditorium/arts center. So it is somewhat complicated trying to balance needs and wants. Hope to hear something official soon but who knows when soon will actually be?!

That would be pretty cool if they did. I know the gym at the new High school is really small.

On a side note, I heard that Lincoln County is also working on their field house. I heard they were going to extend it out about 60 feet or more to accommodate for more lockers and a bigger restroom.

Yeah, Spencer asked for that at the board meeting, they all were in agreement that it needed to be extended and bigger, I think their is only one restroom in the field house, which is amazing to me, I couldn’t imagine 60 kids fighting over one restroom lol. 

It’ll never happen, but Garrard needs to move the high schoolers back to the middle school building and add on to it. Put the middle schoolers in the new building. For the sheer fact that the old high school has all the facilities right there and is in the middle of their town. Renovate the “old high school” and the facilities that are already there.

 

New high school should’ve never been constructed in my eyes, but what is done is done. ?
