I never understood why they did that, it never made any sense, heard today from someone close to the situation 3 names were given and no mention of Clevenger at all, I didn’t get the names mentioned as they wouldn’t tell but they said Clevenger was not one of them, so who knows which direction they are going.

Youth league has struggled here, but most of it is because of no organization and no coaching from above being involved, It’s been a real struggle, and I agree with everything you said there, but tradition doesn’t always mean everything, you can create a new tradition, I think of college football… Clemson had zero tradition and look at them now, I know college is a bit different but tradition doesn’t mean everything, you just have to get parents, kids and admins to buy in, change the culture, it can be done but it’s not gonna be easy.

He may not, Garrard County could be championship caliber, they have shown it before in 2011, so to say that is a little out there, with the right coaching, and admin support they can be whatever they want to be, but it starts at the bottom, youth league is where all this starts, I guess we will all see what happens.

That was my view on it too, but a lot of people had that view, I will tell you, if Clevenger is the guy, it will be a home run for Garrard County football, and our community, we need someone who will be involved with the youth as well, and he’s done so much at Danville for the youth and continues too, I think this is the best hire if they can make it happen.

They have a lot of speed guys, they only had 6 Seniors this season, 4 of them were first year players so I’ve been told, so I’d say it’s a lot, should be the favorite in the district over the next couple of seasons, coach Perry nailed it on the joe Mathis if they don’t win 10-12 games next year they should be fired.

?? that would be a home run hire for Garrard County, but I’m not sure he would want to be put into a situation he just got let go of, Danville kinda do the same thing to him as Garrard did to Perry, a bit different yes but you better win, and you have less talent here to work with then Danville. All of those things are to be considered, either way the community would definitely get behind this hire.

All I’m saying is their were rumblings, I have no idea what took place, to be honest coach Young ended up with a better job in somerset anyways, just my opinion, like I said earlier, small town, so many rumors, nobody has no clue what to believe or not to believe, it’s a mess lol.

Quisenberry Won’t transfer, should he? Probably, if it were me and I was in his dads shoes I would of took him down south 27 about 10 miles and let him play in death Valley with Crutchfield, but I’m not the parent either, he’s dad is all GC, and the stories of him saying he was going to transfer to Boyle are just not him, did he say that Boyle approached him to come play for them? Sure he probably said that and it’s probably true lol.

Heard that too, their were some underlying issues that caused his firing.

Agreed, they probably should of led with it was performance based, because at the end of the day I believe it was, 6 straight losing seasons is not success in anyone’s opinion, but at the same time I think the timing was bad. It’s all just bad lol.

I guess your referring to Brandon Cooper and his son as daddy ball as well, these guys are all from GC, so I don’t really see the issue, they wanted come back home and coach, so I’m not really getting where the issue is, either way, Garrard is going to hire whoever they want at the end of the day. Honestly I don’t care who they hire, I’m I interested in seeing who they do hire? Sure, but it doesn’t affect me one way or another lol

That’s a good question, I’m not sure if they are letting people apply or if they just have a short list of coaches in mind, only time will tell I guess.

Exactly what you said there Rumors, I just don’t see it, I really don’t, his dad has been dedicated to Garrard County athletics and youth for as long as I can remember, Lancaster is a very small town and rumors fly all the time, I take what I hear with a grain of salt anymore lol, I’ve just learned that most everything is just that rumors.

I’m gonna tell you, his dad and him both love Garrard County, I don’t see them leaving and I also don’t believe the bogus stories going around about them causing this with Perry, at the end of the day, Perry didn’t have a winning season since 2015, you can’t have 6 straight losing seasons and survive coaching anywhere, bad timing? Sure but when it is a good time to ever fire someone? Especially someone everyone thinks so highly of, Jerry Perry is a great man and mentor, he will be sorely missed in that aspect, but you have to adapt to the personnel you have and he didn’t do that. Sorry for being honest but this is how the majority of GC thinks. It may blow up in their face but it also might be turn into a blessing, also I don’t think Crutchfield takes this job, I would be surprised if he did. He has support and parent support in Lincoln, no way I’d leave that.

It’s turned into a mess, the paper in Lancaster is all over this, community is upset. Garrard has a ton of talent and athletes, they are super young too, so whoever gets the job, no matter how this breakup looked the future is bright, they can control their district the next 3 years in my opinion. Will be a tough out in 3A.
