It’s posted on Garrard County Schools website, last I heard phone calls were made but they were having a hard time getting anyone to take it, take that for what’s it worth @BEChargers seems to know more then I do to be honest, I’m just relaying what people have told me.

Wonder if we had any big splash names apply? I heard nobody was applying. Maybe because of the way coach Perry was done, a lot of people and fellow coaches like him, so I wonder if some folks don’t apply just because they don’t want to make him mad or stir the pot any. Might be tougher to fill this job then most of us think.

All good, this job opening has become so quiet that everybody is reading between the lines, hope it’s a home run hire! GC needs someone young to be honest to stick around and stay.

Would be HUGE, that man has turned around so many programs, imagine what he can do with the talent that is already there ? happy for GC if that’s a hint.

Nothing from my side, job is posted on the website though as of just a few minutes ago, I’d say we will hear some rumblings some time this week.

I was just mentioning past coaches. That’s the only ones I’m aware of, well since I’ve been alive anyways. My opinion the hire will be Mark Scenters, and with good reason, he Took GC to its only state Semifinal game and it just all around a great person, I don’t know if you all have ever met him but he’s a wonderful person as well as coach.

If it’s Scenters it’s a great hire in my opinion, Garrard hasn’t had a ton of coaches over the years, Perry, Jeff Hester, Stonebraker, Scenters, Perry Again, I don’t think their were anymore in between there, boy Coach Hester would be a great one, even though he’s retired, don’t see him coming back, I feel like it will be Scenters if he wants it.

Agreed. If I was a kid or had a kid in Danville, I would most definitely send them to Boyle to play for Haddix, dude is just a great human being.

I would be surprised if they didn’t get a phone call, maybe they weren’t interested? Who knows, and at this point I’m not real sure who the list is compiled of, it’s been so quiet other than hear say, Jaggers was a hot name yesterday, but I think I kinda had the squashed already just talking to other folks outside of town, don’t think he would be interested. I could be wrong though! All I can see is they need to get going before they lose out on guys, taking a ton of time even really getting a list together, job still isn’t even listed.

That’s not to take away anything from Boyle because they are the premier school in the area, and to boot Justin Haddix is one of the best coaches I’ve seen, and more importantly he’s just a great human being, fantastic person and leader.

Ok so here is where I’ll get defensive, your absolutely right about Perry your dead wrong about Lincoln county, for one they got out of the first round this year they have an 8th grade group coming in that a lot of people have said will be the best group Lincoln has had, with that being said, that’s big words, considering the days of Larry French. Their is no ties to Lincoln but to say they don’t get out of the first round is a little bit of a stretch, future is bright at Lincoln!

Not sure to be honest, He’s been the one constant name in the past few days that I’ve heard, seems like it’s trending in that direction to me. The others mentioned on this thread are out. I don’t think any of the three mentioned had interest or were never contacted at all. But Jaggers has been mentioned a ton today.

Another name to watch is someone down in LaRue County, not sure if they meant Josh or Marty Jaggers, but I’ve heard it tossed around, when I mentioned the list of names here, source said none of them are in the running, mean Crutchfield, Clevenger and Scenters are not being considered, but like I said grain of salt lol

??? Good catch, it might be, I heard Stonebraker was on the list as well, he’s a former Garrard Coach, now at Casey. It would take a lot for him to leave Casey I would imagine, but like I said I take everything I hear with a grain of salt at this point, small town acts like it’s an opening for Alabama head coaching job lol

I agree, it doesn’t look as if it’s posted on the Garrard website yet, but I heard they were already taking interviews, which is weird if true, that’s kinda backwards.

Agreed. The furthest Garrard has ever made it, was a state semifinal appearance in 2011, that’s the deepest run they have made. I was just thinking of the now, Garrard has some young talent coming back next season and for the next few seasons, should be the favorite in the district next 2 seasons, Larkey was one heck of coach! Hall of Famer!

Question here for unbiased opinions, which is the better opening? Rockcastle or Garrard?

Mark Scenters, took them to a state semifinal Appearance against belfry at home but lost 34-27, they were a couple of bad calls away from probably being state champions, as I think they would of beaten central, Scenters is at Estill as an assistant the last I heard, I would expect him to be in the mix this time around as well, he left to go back home to Madison Central but they fired him a couple of years ago I think.
