Why are we making this about the coaching staff? I’ve never once said anything about the coaching staff, all I said was I just don’t get leaving LC for GC like it’s that big of a difference in winning, because it’s not, if you want to go win state your going the wrong direction. Go down 150 instead of up 27.

I’m not sure what your getting at here. You names off 4 other kids, all I’m saying is it’s going to be tough sledding, is the ceiling there winning district or competing for state titles? Why would you leave LC to be in the same situation minus just winning district, their is a pretty good possibility that Boyle drops down to 3A again, Catholic will probably follow suit in 2023, then if their is a district realignment your going to sit here and tell me they are going to compete for it? Not gonna happen. Don’t get to comfortable with the district you have right now, it could change soon, and then you have one really good year (this year) and poof all the talk is gone about competing for their district or even competing for state titles, even if you win your district and it all stays as is, you have to deal with Paducah Tilghman, Belfry, LaRue County and cutter Boley, etown, their is a lot of really good teams in 3A I’m not sure Garrard will have the talent to compete year in and year out, next year will be there year to do something special if they can make it all work, and again I hope they do, but to sit here and downplay LC like their is no chance in winning is kinda ridiculous with the same thing could very easily happen to Garrard after this year.

I feel like Bell County is more mental then anything, Bell County is still a tough out and will continue to be, for every one athlete Garrard may have, Bell will have 3 or 4 to counter it. They do nothing but win, still a tall task in my opinion, but only time will tell. I wish them nothing but luck and I hope they do win the district and honestly would love to see them win a championship in something other then marching band, nothing against marching band but it’s not a sport, Garrard County has zero state titles in any sport, they need to win something eventually.

Do we really feel like they will compete for their district? Bell County is still there and Rockcastle is always tough as well, you have one kid right now, and he’s special, but their are 11 kids on the field. I’m not sold that they will compete, Log Mountain is tough and Hilton will have a gameplan ready for them, this situation reminds me a lot of Robinson at Western Hills, one kid can’t win you every game. Need to get the pieces around him to make a run at district and state championship. It’s possible I’m not saying it’s not, I just don’t really see why you’d leave LC for GC. 🤷‍♂️

They may be just following what they know, so much uncertainty right now, but I would advise against them transferring, not sure what they are going to get there that they won’t get @ LC other then the coaching staff that they are used too. Mind boggling to me, but to each their own they have to do what’s best for their kids, we certainly did at my house so I get it.

I want to say That none of them have been interviewed yet, but I can’t confirm that, I know their have been phone calls but I’m not sure any of the top 4 has had an “official” interview. I’ve heard the only 4 in consideration is Levi Rogers Craig Foley Josh Jaggers Mark Scenters can anyone confirm that to be true?

Yep, will be a stand alone, I think they mentioned they had 42,000,000 if they spent their entire budget, the plan is over 82,000,000 so it will be a while, it will happen in phases, board meeting next week will prioritize what starts first, that’s including all the school upgrades as well, so they may start there before starting the new sports facilities

Terry Yeast would be a good hire, knows the program and has been around for years! All the names listed above are big names as well, not sure they could go wrong with any of those guys.

I feel like I’m the only person that just wants to support the program no matter who they hire, I’m I wrong for that? All the names listed are fantastic candidates in my personal opinion.

Mercer County job just opened, wonder if this will effect some of the interest at Lincoln any? Should be interesting.

Seems like the going thing is their either really good at football or really good at basketball, never really good at both. Tough to be really good at 2 sports.

It’s awesome to hear about Levi and cooper though. I’m glad they both stepped up to take things over, speaks volumes of how much they love the program. They are doing the right thing regardless of how this plays out! Good men for leading those kids.

Colton Ralston doesn’t, Evan smith, jalen smith, William bishop, Jason petrey, none of those play football either, so basically the entire team doesn’t play football,

That basketball program is a well oiled machine. They still have kid after kid coming through, youth league, aau at a very early age, then middle school and high school, they have it figured out for sure. Need to apply that to All sports but I’ve realized most kids just like basketball, not because they are being told to play one sport, they just like it the best, it’s a fast paced non contact sport, some kids are not built for football.

I agree with this sentiment, I’m not sure he’s even saying anything like that, just doesn’t seem like the type to me, so people blowing stuff up here could end up having him disconnected from the job all together which is silly, I would ask that everyone keep their comments about if he said anything or not to themselves, could end up hurting him in the long run, but just my opinion he doesn’t seem like the type to say things like this thread insists, let the job search play out, if I mentioned everything I’ve been told in this thread you all would know too much or you might not know anything at all, everything is hear say, and nothing is concrete, just because an administration doesn’t jump At the first person to apply is not necessarily a bad thing and it shouldn’t be taken the wrong way, they are doing their due diligence and want to make sure they get the right guy no matter who it is, if that makes people mad, then well that’s what’s wrong with most school systems is parents, boosters and certain people keeping control. Nothing will ever move forward, just my 2 cents!

Jaggers is the top choice. In my opinion, If they can’t make that work, I really feel Rogers will be the next head coach. Just my opinion.

Who stays, who moves up and who moves down? Does Boyle County move back down to 3A? Heard Lincoln enrollment was down enough for them to be 3A as well, can anyone verify that?
