Fisk has gone outside the bubble once, unless the last experience still burns him, I think history will repeat and he goes same direction. Can’t beat Boyle or not, the list of “can’t beat” teams increases drastically if he would go to Brossart.

Correct, leave a job you’ve been there a decade for with incredible success, because of one team that you may only play 1 more time. I don’t buy this can’t beat Boyle and I’m out stuff. Leave for family reasons, sure. But leave because he is scared, no shot!

Was told by a member of the staff the administration informed them all the day before they made a statement they are looking to go in a different direction and that none of them will return.

But if they have to stoop as low as no high school coaching experience at all, they might as well go shopping in Florida again.

Great question about diocesan employment and tuition. Also, is a diocesan head coach required to be in the building? I know it’s preferred regardless of what school, public or private, just wondering if that’s a true requirement.

I totally agree with you. I don’t see it happening, hope it doesn’t happen, and hope he remains at CovCath for as long as possible.

This entire thing is interesting. St. Henry job was open - I could see Wiggins applying for that. Could have ruffled some feathers applying for that, especially if he had not told anyone in Brossart administration. Reading through the comments, if Adam Kozerksi is in fact a teacher at Brossart, with Bruce stepping down at HC, Adam may have started pressing for an opportunity at Brossart. The only thing that would make sense to me for Eviston even considering this move would be his girls going to Brossart, assuming they would get free tuition. Then again, he has turned down a handful of jobs since at CovCath - GTown, Moeller, and, I’m assuming Beechwood. Brossart just wouldn’t make sense - unless he is truly done being at the high level and switching his focus to the next stage of his family life. I’m leaning towards the divorce issue is not what Brossart fired Wiggins for, so with that assumption, they clearly have to have someone in mind. And Eviston would be a name that would make sense for them to move on from Wiggins. The only other name that would be worth making that move for, considering Wiggins commitment and success, would be Noel Rash. And even then I don’t see that. But now since names have been dropped, to keep up with a typical Open Job forum, I’ll throw a list of potentials out there. Eddie Eviston (mentioned twice now in thread) Adam Kozerski (teacher at school, if not getting Holy Cross job, this is a possibility) Noel Rash (have to mention him bc he’s the best available who is not coaching) Terry Brown (would be a phone call I’d make - as NewCath, St. Henry, and Dixie all did when jobs were open) Stephen Lickert (seems to always be mentioned. But goes back to age old question of what he thinks gets him closer to his ultimate goal of the Highlands job.) Other than that, no one else comes to mind unless Brossart goes unconventional, out of towner, or first time HC - but again, if they choose any of these options, doesn’t make sense moving on from Wiggins without a guy in mind. The Conch can’t figure this one out.

I would say I’d certainly make the call. But then again, if Scott doesn’t have their guy yet, or at the very least in the later stages of the interview process, then they are asking for trouble and most likely another botched hire. Unless, of course, Paul had already been interviewing with them.

I agree with the wording on this - especially because even when some coaches are fired or let go, the school still allows the coach to save face and call it a “resignation”. In this release, you don’t get any of that. If he was let go, Brossart needs to be humbled a little bit. Going to be very difficult to find someone to fill his shoes.

I have a hard to seeing it, just sharing the 3 names I heard.

The 3 names I’ve heard on this job have been Rash, Warner, and Marksberry. Rash - not sure what is current retirement looks like or if St. Henry would want someone who is still tied up elsewhere for another 2 years - then again, they have time as varsity football has a couple years buffer. Warner - I have a hard time believing this one, especially with him having a son. May be a 7th or 8th grader. I would have to believe Warner has a better chance of ending up back at CovCath than he does taking over the St. Henry job. Following his Facebook page, He is constantly busy with his real estate, I don’t know how much time he could dedicate to getting a program off the ground. Although, if he runs his football program anything like he does his business, the promotion would be very useful for a new program to encourage participation. Marksberry - I know really nothing about it, or if he is still working, I know he retired from coaching but is he still working for SK? If I’m St. Henry, and there is mutual interest, I go after Noel hard and work with him on whatever he needs to do to get his full retirement. While also having in mind someone that can join their staff and have Noel groom the young coach to take over the program once Noel, or whoever the veteran coach is, hangs it up. But I do not see St. Henry going first time Head Coach here.
