Should Semi-State be on neutral field?
hector607 replied to Jumper_Dad's topic in KY Football (High School)
It is the semi's...everyone has won all year. There is really no difference knowing your last home game the regional finals or semis, either way you will play your last one. I mean honestly is this your debate? There are 4 teams undefeated in 4A and you're going to tell me 2 of those teams didn't work hard to earn a equal playing field? Or Mayfield deserves homefield over Beechwood (and vice versa other years)? -

The semi's should absolutely be moved to neutral site. It makes no sense to determine home field advantage based on RPI or record, given how different everybody's schedule looks. -

A nice 9-1 record looks good and is something the community can get excited about. Plus now they don’t have to sit in the cold any longer. Win-win if you ask me. -

Going 7-3 against competitive opponents is much better than 9-1 against cupcakes. You are able to learn from losses and strengthen some weaknesses. 20-7 is not a huge margin. Sometimes getting your face beat in is a lesson worth learning. -
They don’t. Louisville has some detail and red in their uniforms. Florida did their black uniforms very well. If they win state no one remembers, if they don’t this is a bad look.
-
Those uniforms looked legitimately bad. Like if you’re going to break tradition at least do it in some cool looking stuff, not something that looks like A&N sports put together last week.
-
Talking about poor decisions, the black uniforms are atrocious and an abomination; I don’t care if it is only for one game. Starting to question some things.

Beechwood played Cov Cath closer and should have won. I’m using your same flawed system, but I guess it is useful.
-
Flip Beechwood and Highlands. Other than that good.

I know it’s sarcasm but you’re not wrong. A 2A school put 56 up on BG’s defense. They are basically a slightly better Shawnee at this point. -

Highlands beats BG at neutral site by at least 2 scores. -

Love it. Mayfield loses, they had them 4th; Mayfield wins, the projection was correct. Covering all their bases. -

It’s a good thing Highlands beat everyone on their schedule except Cov Cath. Also, looks like BG needs to get a tougher schedule if everyone can run through it like you say; especially the 2A team they lost to, yikes! -

The rest of 5A is so scared of Highlands they’ve lost all of their number sense (8-1 > 7-2). THE BLUEBIRDS ARE SO BACK! -

Blah, blah, blah; best team they’ve ever had. Blah, blah, blah; nobody stands a chance. Rinse, repeat.
