  1. I try not to toot our (Brossart) own players horns, AND I am appreciative of the luv being shown to Jennings and Rieger, but we are "not where we are today without Spencer Hackworth" very much an unsung hero. That is a direct quote from Coach Mike Code. The Junior is rock solid, has had to help with guard duties, will knock down the 3 with the best of them, will lock you up on defense and can be counted on for 30 minutes a night. I guess it shows that all five of our starters are integral pieces of what makes us go. True Burns and Trentmen get the ink, but without the supporting cast they wouldn't be where they are, nor would we be where we are without each other including Clay Kramer and Austin Shannon. I'll cast my vote for us being the unsung hero poster child - lol!!!
  2. Does not post up (often) true. But VERY MUCH an inside player. Potent rebound/stickback threat.
  3. Looks to me like Mr. Chapman, who came to Cordia to escape a bad environment, brought his bad environment with him.
  4. I'm sure the Cordia supporters will contend it was self-defense.
  5. Congratulations to Sarah on being named the 10th Region KABC Player of the Year. A well-deserved honor to top off a brilliant career.
  6. Paris is going to be a load next year and for awhile.
  7. Can I assume that due to the Holmes/NCC showcase at BOKC the two JV teams did not play each other this year???
  8. I like them thin and bubbly and think Greaters are tops. However, they are small so I order two. If you do the same take lots of cash. These babies are not cheap. For cheap I go to Steak and Shake.
  9. Congratulations to Don Shields who I had the privilege of having had officiate my games prior to coaching against him. When I/we beat him, it was simply because we had superior talent. 400 wins in a program that is not in a position to pump out 20 wins per season is saying something. Tremendous dedication to a program that you love!!!! Go get Number 500!
  10. Lost to Brossart in overtime 52-48 at home back on December 10th
  11. Thanks for the updates. Great way to finish out the regular season in the 10th.
  12. Perhaps Chapman can get the Franklin County Circuit Court to overrule any imposed suspension.
  13. I was indeed by the Scott defense. Noting the high scores of the games they played I was surprised how well they defended and how fundamentally sound they were. Although Trentman scored 29 everything (for the most part) was contested, and Burns was limited to 2. That's doing something.
  14. I'm assuming you are talking about the KABC Player of the Year - which is Seniors only. Individual regional players of the year can be from any age group, OR as determined by that individual region's coaches association.
  15. Neither Burns nor the team were at the top of our game last night. Burns was coming off of a superhuman effort against Mason County 48 hours previous. Got in foul trouble early and never got untracked. Has been battling some minor hamstring issues. The week off will help all of us. Trentman stepped up. 29 points (his 27th consecutive double-figure scoring performance) and knocked down a school record 13-13 from the line. Along with 7 rebounds and 6 blocked shots. Schneider is really quick and gave us some problems. Jake Jennings' passing/ball-handling obviously showed the effects of a four-week layoff. He will be 100% next week for the district/regional run.
  16. Those two need to consider officiating golf.
  17. No, the message was that the rest of the 10th Region didn't care for what was going on at MoCo.
  18. Congrats to Brent Bach on a well-deserved honor as KABC POY. Has been solid for the past three years, night in/night out. Happy to have him representing the 10th at Rupp.
  19. The Brossart Lady Stangs traveled to Mount Sterling on Wednesday night to take on the three time repeat 10th Region Champion Montgomery County Indians, in what is to be the first of three consecutive games to close out the regular season, culminating with Senior Night on Friday. The Lady Stangs were without the services of their all-region senior center, Sarah Futscher, who is home recovering from a fever. Her teammates did an admirable job competing with the Lady Indians in her absence. Abby Stadtmiller, who would lead our gals in scoring with 18 points on the night, got the Stangs out of the gate running by scoring seven of our first 12 points, and cousin Morgan Verst was responsible for the other five as the greenclads led early 12-8. MoCo recovered to lead 17-14 after a period of play and 34-25 at intermission. However, Stats duplicated her early game efforts, knocked down a pair of threes and a two, triggering a Brossart rally that led to a tied game at 39-39 at the 2 minute mark of the third quarter, but again the Lady Indians were up to the task, and led 46-42 after three. The Stangs kept it close and were within one possession at 56-54 under a minute, but the home team hit their free-throws down the stretch and survived the Lady Stangs 60-54.
  20. Here is the Joe Zink video of the game-winner:
  21. It was fun, but deliriously unprofessional - lol!!!
  22. Brossart/NCC on Feb. 19th, 2004 stopped in third quarter due to excessive floor condensation.
  23. Eleven threes is a lot. That would be a school record in our program and MANY others.
