My Favorite Part Of The Sweet 16 Is...
Mustang replied to JokersWild24's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Mixing a little horse racing with my hoops. Spending each day at Keeneland playing the simulcasts, going to dinner, then the night games at Rupp. -
How did Trinity fare with CovCath???

Did Nate Verst pitch this one for Brossart???
-
Bit of a rough 24 hours for our Mustangs. 31-1 to CovCath, Trinity, and DeSales. I'm sure we hoped for better, but at least we are getting to play. Can only benefit us down the road.

Bishop Brossart's Drew Burns commits to Centre

And 16 charges taken! -
It's a misconception that airliners need big paved runways to land/take off. In 2001 I landed at Plummer's Lodge at Great Slave Lake in the Northwest Territories on a 727 on an uneven, unpaved, and un-straight runway. The big jet had no problems whatsoever.

Bishop Brossart's Drew Burns commits to Centre
Mustang replied to Randy Parker's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Couldn't be happier for Drew. I feel that Centre is where he wanted to go all along and is quite happy with his choice. Drew has gotten better, stronger and more agressive with each passing year. I really look forward to following his career as a Centre Colonel. -

Nice little share money payday for the participating teams, OR is it predetermined by contract??? -
Congratulations to the Camels - a bunch of tough kids out there tonight. When ahead 46-40 mid third, MoCo made a 10-0 run to go up 50-46 Campbell could have packed it in, BUT they didn't. Happy for Corey Holbrook, and really impressed with Matt Wilson. McGovney earned his stripes against intense pressure, and knocked down a HUGE three late in the game. Congratulations to AfiGuy - this has to be a very special night for he and the missus. I look forward to seeing them play in Rupp.

Covington Catholic 56 Holmes 51 (9th Region Final)
Mustang replied to Lawnboy13's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
My thoughts turned to a KHSAA directive that came out a few years back saying that teams were not permitted to circle the floor, but must remain at thier end of the arena for their entire pre-game period. WHile I certainly thought that was a nice touch, even though the spotlight had trouble keeping up with them, I was wondering if the areana staff took liberties with the rule. Clyde???? -
The "Crazies" were out in force for the 9th Region finals Monday night. Coach Ruthsatz made a special point of walking in front of the student section and bowing to them and saluting them following the victory. The KHSAA made a huge score in student (and overall) ticket sales when CovCath won the game. There was NO active student involvement from the Holmes side. I too am looking forward to seeing them in Rupp. If you remember correctly the KHSAA created a special award for them the last time they were there.

On official business - reporting updates to half of Northern Kentucky. Probably flashed his BMustangs.com credentials and walked right in.
