  1. While we've recognized Dan Sullivan and Sumoroyal, this is the complete listing of inductees. We (Brossart) are very proud to have Evan McDole '05 so honored. 2. Congratulations to our good friend Patrick Kelsch and the Lady Bears on a great seaon and a super run for his 8 seniors. MoCo is tough come tournament time, having won three straight and eight out of the last nine 10th Region Championshps.
  3. Coach L and I are friends, as are myself and Bob Rowe. I can honestly say that Mr. Rowe labored over this decision, and it wasn't an easy one, nor was it a knee-jerk reaction to the letters, E/Mails, etc.. There was much disenchantment within the boys basketball program and in the community, to the point where potential Colonels were choosing to go elsewhere, and boys with the ability to contribute for CovCath at CovCath were not coming out. Bob Rowe is a former coach and drew his own conclusions about which way the program was heading. I'll just say this. Mr. Rowe was very loyal to Coach L, and Mike could have stayed at CovCath and lived out his teaching days, without losing a penny from losing his coaching job. It was Mike who chose not to go quietly into the night, pulled up roots and hooked up with CovCath's top district rival. In retrospect Bob's decision was a good one and I doubt that few would want to turn back the clock. The CovCath hoops program under Scott Ruthsatz has overachieved and is once again looked up to by all involved in the CovCath program, and more importantly by the young athletes out there looking to make a high school choice.

  5. Girls semis and finals on Saturday and Sunday. Girls semis on Saturday at 4pm and 5:30pm with the finals on Sunday at 3pm.

  7. Due to the cancellation of Monday's Girls 10th Region Tournament first round games, the boys tournament has been pushed back a day. The first round upper bracket (Campbell Co/Bracken Co and Harrison Co/Clark Co) will now be played on Thursday at 6pm/7:30pm and the first round lower bracket (Brossart/Montgomery and Augusta/Robertson Co) to follow on Friday night. The semis will be a single session on Monday night at 6/7:30pm with the finals slated for Tuesday night at 7pm.
  8. You are entitled to your capital letters shout at me. I must be getting old - tuned in during our ongoing practice session, listening through those little ear buds our players use, and my impression was that it wasn't Mark doing the Play-by-play. Following your deserved chastisement I went back and listened to the replay, and sure enough, I OWE YOU AND THE POSTERS AN APOLOGY. Mark sure enough did the broadcast.
  9. I listened to the game. Mark Whery did not do the play by play last night, so you owe him a public apology. We (Brossart and CovCath) and anyone who do high school streams for their schools, are physically and emotionally attached to that program. I'm sure that we do come off as biased. I also try to maintain a degree of professionalism, but sometimes make critical observations that might come off being slanted. I'm also critical of our team when we make mental mistakes. I also attempt to give credit where credit is due. Do we get caught up in the emotion of the moment??? We sure do. Sometimes I listen to our replay, and think to myself that it wasn't as exciting as I make it sound. I guess that's why our fans love us, and our opponents occasionally take exception. We are what we are, but first and foremost we are fans of our own teams. No one forces anyone to listen to the broadcasts, but on a given night we might have 150 listeners and 75 listen to the replay, so we must be doing something right.
  10. But have NCC waiting in the wings. Holmes comes out smelling like a rose.
  11. I posted earlier this season that if you don't think coaching matters, you better check out Beechwood under Dick Maile. The young ladies at Beechwood are extremely fortunate to be coached by Dick. He has taken a program that has toiled in obscurity for decades and has them running with the big dogs. I wish Dick many more years of success on the hardwood and anxious to see where this group of young ladies takes him down the road.
  12. You and Brian Flaugher. Consider yourself in famous company.
  13. Recipients were released yesterday or Thursday via E/Mail from Cary Barr to the coaches. Consider yourself officially notified. Longtime Pendleton County administrator also HOF contributor.
  14. Draw is actually tonight after the game - Not tomorrow morning.
