Teams have to schedule with the RPI in mind. We are finding it a real challenge to get larger schools to play us. I can only guess that our 2A rivals are experiencing the same.

Was told this morning that Owensboro Apollo has been added to the schedule for next year.

Interesting, and this is our dilemma, and that is finding good opponents that may be in a higher classification who will play us. This aspect of the RPI needs some work, and soon!

Cats had better be ready for this one. This has the feel of our trip to Tennessee when we were at our lowest. We came out swinging in that game and I venture Kansas will do the same. One more thing, Jalen Wilson may be the best player in the country this year. He’s a 4 who can play the point if needed. I am interested to see who defends him in this game. Cats win in a close one.

Just my two cents, but I thought last year’s defense that you guys put on the field was one of the best defenses that we had played against. After we lost to the Tigers in the semis, I stated on the game thread for the finals that LCA had better bring their A game and even that might not be enough. I based that on the performance of the defense that had shut us down the week before.

Great win today by the Beechies! I thought Flaherty ran the ball well against us, and that is also a testament to the offensive line. We appreciate a championship program, and that's what Beechwood is.

Let me just say this, we have proven over and over that the size of our population (and the number of businesses that are located here) is not a safe measuring stick as to the strength of our football program. Most of the larger schools that we played through the years, and some of them with D1 athletes, have failed to register a victory against us.

I grew up in an official’s home. So, I definitely give the official the benefit of the doubt. But what happened last night was unexcusable. There were blatant missed calls the entire game. Two hundred and forty yards in penalties between the two teams? Coaches can’t coach and players can't play when this happens. With all that said, some of the penalties were justified, and I have some doubts about the Cardinals chances to win a championship this year because of those penalties. Champions let the scoreboard do their talking. Those that refuse to bridle their tongues and in the process rob their team of scoring opprtunities usually are at home listening to the finals on the radio.

Cardinals win this one by three scores. Metcalf may be big and strong, but it is hard to tackle what you cannot catch.

Another running clock victory for the Big Red. Defense played well and, again, the starting unit did not allow a point scored against them. I thought that the Murray QB, Wilson, did a good job running their offense, but it is a very slow moving offense. Battle of the unbeatens next week as Metcalf County comes to War Memorial

Sluggish? Every team has things to work on, but we could have put 60 plus on this team that lost to O Cath by 10. I don't know anything about that game. Maybe O Cath pulled their starters in the second half, but our first team is clicking, and that is without two of our best players.

Score can be a little misleading. Mayfield completely dominated the Rebels to the tune of a second quarter running clock. JV played the second half and could not contain Todd Co’s quarterback. To his credit, Coach Morris stayed with them through the conclusion of the game. If Mayfield had kept their first team O and D, this would have been really ugly.

This just in, the Cardinals can play some football. Complete domination of the Maroons tonite. We had a running clock with about nine minutes left in the SECOND quarter. JV played the entire second half. Go Big Red!

You and I are in agreement about the dumb penalties, but we have young kids who are learning how to play the game. I don't agree with your description of them playing like they are asleep. Believe it or not, the other teams have their issues too. Ultimately, this is an opinion website, and you are certainly welcome to have yours. ? Go Big Red!
