As a Red Devil fan I'm here to tell you. It could've been worse.

Yeah they were really dominant the 11-12' season, it was a 62-0 game. They finished number 2 in KY and top 50 in the nation that year.

I wouldn't go that far. CAL is good at all levels. Not a weak spot on the field. O won't see anybody remotely that good for the rest of the season. Biggs played 2 and a half quarters against X. We're going to be ok.

No BG has gotten us like this before.

CAL is scary good. Congrats to the Centurions. Back to work Devils! Would've been nice to have had Ganaway at QB but I'm not sure it would've mattered much.

According to the polls/common perception, I just hope O can just stay in the game. I'm glad CAL not in 5A.

Apollo has a shot here. I have yet to see the WRs for the Eagles but I’ve been told they’re a dynamic group. Max Johnson and company will put up some points. Just don’t believe the Eagles defense has enough to slow down the Patriots. Heritage Hills 49 Eagles 35

Unless O loses the TO battle by 3+. I’d be a little shocked if this were the score. This defense has shutdown some high level offenses. I think you underestimating how good this Devils defense is. They aren’t Pikeville. Much improved from last years defense at this time.

Tre Shemwell. 2 INT’s (1 pick 6) and a reception touchdown against X deserves a look.

Tee Green helps the defense more than the offense. Kindle and Walker are a dynamic duo. Don’t sleep on Biggs. He may not have Ganaways foot speed but the kid can still sling it..

I believe Owensboro already proved its case against X. Beside Trinity CAL and Boyle who are else would you put in front of them?

If BG scores 24 against X that would imply another disastrous night of turnovers for X. Plus it’s not uncommon for the Purples to beat the Tigers like it is for most schools outside of Louisville. Maybe BG can take advantage of the growing pains of the Tigers. 24 points against X in any fashion would be huge.

If BG wins this game. 5A gets pretty interesting. The Purples defense shut the Chargers down in the 2nd half of the Rafferty's Bowl. With that type of performance I’m inclined to think they should be able to slow down St. X’s struggling offense. My question is how good is Bullitt East? They’re an unknown team for me and difficult measuring stick. I say the better defensive team wins this one in a low scoring affair. St. X 10 BG 7

I think that started with X. He had more in that game than Hampton I believe. Might need to be fact checked though.

Ganaway will be missed no doubt. Biggs will do fine. O scores their only offensive TD with him in the game. Next man up. Biggs is better than a lot of starters from other teams. The Defense should keep that game competitive. As for Apollo I just expected more with some of the pre-season hype they had. I still think they are in for a good season by Apollo standards. I just thought this was the year they turned it up a notch…. Like @jester270 said it’s just Aug 22nd. They still have Heritage Hills, OC and OHS to prove themselves over the coming weeks.

Congrats to Murray on the big win in double OT!….Apollo needed this game! For momentum for RPI purposes. With that offense they’ll definitely have a bunch of show worthy performances but not sure they’re a contender in 5A until that defense tightens up.. 58 points allowed is very worrying.

St. X will be alright. The defense is great. That’s the most touch’s Dillard has gotten in a game. Outside of maybe 2 carries, the tigers had him bottled up and gave little to no breathing room for our other top tier WRs and a phenomenal RB in Walker from breaking one.. Much like the Devils last year, this Tigers offense is new/younger. They will continue to get better as the season progresses and by post season be a tough out for any team in 6A.

I know people will say it’s just a scrimmage but this same X team just held Frederick Douglass to 0. The same Frederick Douglass that just hung a 40 points over Highlands. St. X is good. As far as the CAL game goes that’s a different animal. O will need everyone healthy to be competitive in that game.

Polls need to show some respect to the Broncos. They handled business.

I might get some heat for this. Walker might be as good or better than Hampton. O has been real fortunate at the RB over the past 6yrs.
