The opening game of the Rafferty's Bowl this year. Should be an electric one. We have the 2A runner ups vs the 4A defending champs.

O Cath lost a lot of WR production last year, but there plenty of capable bodies returning and new comers joining the line up. The Aces are lead by Mr. Football hopeful Dremail Carothers, and anchored up front by 4 star John Carrico. They're going to pass early, and they're going to pass often. Jude Evans is the leading tackler on defense returning with 100+ from the season before.

The Rebels graduated a little bit from all levels of the field last year, but they still have a lot of capable bodies as well. The Rebels are also led by a Mr. Football hopeful in Seneca Driver who does a little bit of everything, and Christian Bryant leads the way up front on both sides of the ball. Jhet Raleigh mans the QB position and looks to build off of a big time sophomore season. On defense Boyle will be led in the middle by all returning LBs.

This should be a dandy! Who ya got?

Carrico is 6’8” 295 and has many high level D1 offers. I love Seneca, but this kid deserves some respect also. The game is at WKU for the final time. Announced a few weeks ago that it will be at BG H

I like Boyle County in this one. Owensboro Catholic is a worthy opponent and will test the defense of Boyle all game long. I think Boyle will still not open up the offense but just enough to get the win unless OC comes out and puts the pedal to the metal. Boyle QB this season I think will have a bigger role in the offense and the film I saw he looks tuff. Quick. I think he will just keep getting better every game. Really, can't get much better as he has already won a championship under center. I think Driver is a little much for any team to hold back for an entire 4 quarters. Be fun to see the matchups and this is a good test for both teams. Owensboro Catholic is looking for their own title, and this game will help them tremendously down the road against tuff 2A competition.

Heard Jude Evans may be out this week. Would be a brutal blow to the Aces.

Boyle has got to hold on to the ball better. They better get that corrected quickly.

Too many unknowns for the Aces outside of Carothers and Carrico right now. I think Carothers can put Boyle's defense under stress at times, but not enough to win.

Rebels by 2-3 scores.

I would be surprised if this game was close. I think OC is a very good team that, if the defense can figure it out, will be tough in 2A. Boyle is a different animal but this will make the Aces better.

Two of the five frontrunners from the pre-season watchlist will be featured in this game. I think both will play well, but Driver's ability to impact the game on both sides of the ball will give him a leg up. His size and athleticism should pose a mismatch for O-Cath's defense across the board.

Two of the top teams in their classes, a great opening game for the Rafferty’s Bowl regardless of the outcome. Haven’t seen many kids spin the ball the way Carothers can, very special arm talent. Could write a paragraph on him alone but I’ll save that for another day, he’ll have opportunities in this game to make some plays it just won’t be enough.

Just raved about a D1 QB but Seneca Driver for these Rebels is on the cusp of being a 5 star talent according to the “experts.” I want to see him more involved offensively, a true matchup nightmare and one of the better talents the State has had to offer as of late.

Boyle wins 38-14, best of luck to both teams this year on their road to a Championship.

Does Driver play defense and if so, do they move him around? I think him matched up against Carrico would be a great battle. And speaking of Carrico, he just picked up 2 offers today. Georgia and Florida State.

I’ve not heard a lot about Hager lately from the Boyle fans. Is his knee injury a concern? What’s going on with him?

He’s full speed and playing. Look for some good things from him. About 6’5” and a big frame.

If Driver lines up at DE, I do not imagine anyone from OC being able to keep him off the QB.

Are the games at WKU or Bowling Green? I have heard that is at both places. Last year it was moved to Bowling Green so was just wondering.
