Good. I hate playing the option. It’s a completely different defense mindset.

What games was Crone not playing? I feel like no-Crone SK is like 24 points worse than SK with Crone at least.

Might as well. I feel like on 4th and 2-7 you roll out crone and tell him running the ball is slightly preferred unless someone is wide open.

Did not know Scott Co still ran the option. I think it should be a good matchup for Highlands D, with their overall D speed. Only thing that would seem concerning is if Scott Co has a big bruising FB style RB. Also not sure if Highlands has faced the option so might be a learning curve. On KHSAA, Scott County’s leading passer is around 14th on the team rushing yards which is a good sign for the birds I think?

Glad we came out victorious with no injuries (that I know of). Defense looked really good. Team tackling and pursuit looks better each week. #26 makes 80% of the tackles. Offensive run game looked a little better. Geisler is way more successful when he makes one quick move and gets down the field.. Pass game seemed ok, a bit rusty, they needed this game to sharpen it up.

Highlands needs to play “The Bird is the Word” after TDs. c’mon.

I saw and talked to him at Ft Thomas Coffee like 4 years ago, he seemed good. No idea what he's up to though. I was a senior when he was a sophomore, as a teammate he was really quiet, but he played really really loud.

Sophomore DB/WR Bret Hamblen did not play in the Male game because he had just joined the team that week. He was probably one of the top 5 best players on the team by the state game.

Could be a slight exaggeration haha... but we had 2 O linemen that were total bean poles. They were mean blockers though. They'd get those long arms extended and it just take you one direction. All Lorenzen needed.

What was crazy about that team was the OLine... 6'-4" 110 Lbs and 5-7 140 Lbs was the type of dudes blocking for Lorenzen and crew.... crazy.

I guess the '98 State Championship team didn't make the cut this year... Hopefully in the future.

Yeah, I hope to see a lot of Benke slinging it all over the place. Deep balls, crossing routes, just exercise his arm and knock the dust off. They have seemed to be pretty careful with him throwing it lately. He was thrown in to the QB position at the beginning of the season and it took a couple games to warm it up and get synchronized with the WRs. I feel like the past couple games the passing game has been a little off from what it was mid season.

Is Tayden Lorenzen an 8th grader? I thought he was younger than that.

I like this attitude. Trinity is down from where they have been the past 20 years. SK has a 4 year veteran at QB that can run the ball like a RB and doesn’t make mistakes. I’d say Trinity will be the favorite by two TDs, but SK has a punchers chance this year. Would this game be at SK?

The potential Highlands vs Scott Co game is a rough 2nd round opponent to get by. Long way to go. Haha.

2014 Beau Hoge lead Bluebirds won Highlands' most recent state championship, Weinrichs first year as head coach. So the townspeople thought that the kingdom was secure. 2015 had a rough start but they held it together at the end of the season. The next year was Cov Cath's rise to be the power of NKY.

I'd guess no one gets within 14 points of FD on their way to a state title. It's just that I've thought that before... It will be fun to see it play out.
