Highlands is moving in the right direction. There will be some bumps. Congrats to Ryle, they looked really good. Highlands will only be getting better the next couple of years.

Why are those two out?

Highlands is too high. I think they could give any team in 5A a good game, but let’s take it 1game at a time.

What were the matchups on the line like between Lex and Cov ?

The whole vibe is different at Highlands. There is a confidence and excitement that hasn’t really been there in a while. When the kids believe you can do so much more.

Don’t get too into this one game. Colonels will bounce back and make some adjustments. Just last week they dominated Belfry on the road.

Cov Cath has been spoiled when it comes to QBs.

They could definitely bring it back. Just don’t use real cannon balls this time around. Won’t be as fun but still pretty good.

Yeah I know it wasn’t their home stadium. I would say that it was not a neutral field situation though. BG was playing in their home town and Highlands was traveling clear across the state. BG probably had more of a home field advantage than your average high school game. Especially first game of the year.

I see what you mean by stacking up those scores comparisons. BG does not look like normal BG, you’re right. But stacking up scores can be tricky with a team who’s strength is defense. Highlands beat the defending champs at their place first game with a new coach without their QB1. That information stacked up looks phenomenal. Reality is somewhere in the middle.

Is there an KHSAA equivalent of Ohio? I thought I found it but I couldn’t see schedules and scores.

Congrats to the Colonels. Big win vs a great program in their house in the middle of the night. I’ve always wanted to go see a game at Belfry. I’m not sure if it was as cool of an experience at midnight. Looks like Colonels are still the Colonels.

Highlands won’t see a QB of Crone’s caliber for the rest of the season. All you have to do is score more points than that other team. 2-0 Baby.

No no no. Don’t make the Colonels a underdog. Cov Cath should stay above Highlands until they either play and Highlands wins. or if Cov Cath loses to a “mortal” team and Highlands stays undefeated.
