I do agree that CCH is by far the best team and should win the Region this year...but my opinion has changed in that I believe they are more vulnerable than I thought them to be after their Florida Holiday tournament win. I think Hupman makes a difference..with him it will be tough for anyone to beat them. Keeping to the thread St. Henry has proved they can win big games. They appear to have great chemistry but don't think..even playing their best can beat CovCath...It would take huge a huge game..freakish 3 point percentage..an off night from Diskin and containment of Green, Starks, Stocks, Hupman?. Don't get me wrong, I love heart and it would be cool to see..but unlikely. I think the teams with the best chance to unseat the Colonels are Highlands, NewCath and Connor. I think those teams can match up physically better with CCH. I believe CovCath to be a HUGE favorite to win the Region..but again..they have shown vulnerability. Or maybe I'm just hoping for some BB&T arena drama. Let's get there and play the games!!

9th Region is crazy this year. Cov-Cath is not so unbeatable after losses to Cincy schools and Male. It appears if a team can shut down Diskin, and match up physically with Green, Hupman, Starks...they are beatable. Any one of 6 or 7 teams have a chance with the right draw...defense..and 3 point shooting. Could be fun at NKU when I thought all along it was a Colonel march to Rupp....maybe not so much!

Wow! Very similar thing happened to Ryle in their first game against Cooper this year. Love to hear what actually happened here. In Ryle's case the ref missed a Cooper player falling down (which the video showed a clear walk), called a phantom foul on Ryle, and T'd up Coach Belcher from 60 feet away for standing up and half removing his sport coat! This was a 2 point game under a minute..the 4 fouls shots and forced foul and 2 made shots ended the game. Let the kids decide these games!! IMO Never except in extreme situations (fighting, out of control coach on floor, etc.,) should the Refs call a T that is going to decide the game.

Credit to Ryle for responding so well with 2 starters out. Credit to coaching staff for putting pedal down in 4th quarter rather than holding ball.

Anyone know if Huppman is back for the Colonels? With him I like CCH..without him Male will prevail.

I am curious Owl. Newport has a very good program with a respected coach and good players..what's going on to lose by more than 40 points? Anybody close to the program care to respond?

Very surprising.

Crew looked tired defensively and did not look effective on offense. Probably worst effort of the year. Hopefully it was just an off night heading into Districts. They have had a great year so far...maybe this will be a wake up call for them.

Ryle v. Cooper and Connor v. Boone in Districts..assuming Boone gets by Heritage.

Dont know how to respond to that. Dont see the game stopped and a parent ejected, police called, and parent ejected very often. Impressed with Holmes girls..thought they played hard and did not give up, no cheap hard fouls..played with class.

Gray 7th grade just beat Holmes by 3 to punch their ticket to finals on Saturday. I believe Holmes was undefeated. Exciting game..Gray had big lead and held on against furious Holmes comeback. Game was marred by REALLY bad refereeing and a Holmes parent causing a scene and being ejected with about 2 minutes left. Gray will play winner of Highlands and Bally.

Expected..is Conner, St Henry or Highlands most likely to send Covcath home? Or no chance to any?

Don't know how good Anderson is. I have seen Highlands play their game so as they may compete with CCH. I also believe 9th is not "down". Question is will they compete to get through the tough games necessary to face the Colonels..and will they have learned enough to compete if they do. I personally think this team can compete...I believe in Sam Vincent and the rest of the Bluebirds...I hope to see it on the floor.

CCH is deserving number 1. They are the favorites to win their 3rd title this year (primarily because they are very likely to get out of their region) and will be a really tough out. I like them a lot. They have not played Louisville's best but believe they travel down to play Male in a couple weeks..THAT will be a game not to miss!

Actually love the place played 4th grade Dodgeball back in the old gym.
