What about the dropped interception that popped up and fell into CCH’s players hands that led to a first down on 3rd and long I believe? Or the ticky rack pass interference on the same drive? Either of those don’t happen and Beechwood likely wins.

I hear similar activity going on at Beechwood. 8th graders play with the freshman team. The freshman team is really good with a tough schedule so the 8th graders don’t see the field other then mop up duty in the 4th quarter. Most of the freshman play significant minutes at JV due to limited #s in the soph class and the junior class is the varsity core. So many in the 9th grade class are getting 6 or 7 quarters of football each week and the 8th graders get about .5 quarter of on field play. Seems silly from a development purpose for long term success.

Looking at the weather, I’d say slim chances of any Thursday at 6 pm game being played.

With the cramping issues from last week, Beechwood better due some major hydration this week or the additional heat could be a major factor in this one. Depth does not seem to be a strong suit for the Tigers this year.

In your excuse above you went from “they beat Ryle last week”, to this week was just a scrimmage. This week they got manhandled by Cooper in a game like scrimmage and you say it was just a scrimmage. Yet, you want to take credit for a win over Ryle in a scrimmage that did not follow game rules and their running qb couldn’t run. Beechwood QB is not going to run, so major advantage. Things may end up being fine in Ft Mitchell, but roster size is down, size is down and overall speed appears down. Better not mess around and lose to McNich and/or Campbell Co. If they do they may be looking at 0-5 or 1-4 and that won’t sit well.

The Beechwood Authority cannot be thrilled with this performance. The first 3 weeks of September may be rough sledding in Ft Mitchell.

This speculation started swirling a few days after the Harney speculation. Surprised it took this long to become public. If you watched the district final he was probably the 2nd best player on the court that evening, at least in that game. Big loss for the tigers new coach and hope the kid doesn’t get lost in the shuffle in Park Hills. Should be a nice addition for the Colonels.

I’m guessing whomever wins the Rat Races tonight has a solid chance of being the next head coach at Holy Cross. At minimum, pretty solid chance the next coach will be in attendance!

I understand and am aware. I’ll agree to disagree. Do I think Scott and Joe are coming out and saying you can’t play football? Absolutely not! Do I think there are influential comments along the lines of “you could be similar to (blank), if you committed yourself to basketball!” Yes!

Role players .. if we are looking at the pipeline of who can be the next Ruthsatz, Disken, Ipsaro, Thelen, Rylee, etc the heirs to that pedestal are in the freshman class and they all play football (especially if McGillis leaves). I didn’t see many on the JV roster capable of making that big jump. Maybe I’m wrong on that assessment. Either transfers or young players(who play football) plus Hussey will likely be the foundation next year.

Interesting .. haven’t been many crossovers playing both effectively other than maybe the Mayers. But even then they weren’t the basketball star, so it wasn’t an issue. They were nice to have as really really good role players, but not the focal point of the team. Maybe he’s looking at his pipeline (Harney, Gaiser, Bradshaw) of possible future A players who all play football and forcing some hands.

Fair. The one who grows a few more inches first may be the deciding factor. However, neither may grow much more if at all. It’s a little difficult to be a great passing qb at their current heights. Maybe one ends up at WR and one at RB.

So you are anointing Harney as the starter in 24 over Gaiser without any competition? They seem to be very similar type of players both on the football field and hardwood. Do you not see a scenario for Gaiser to be the QB and Harney the WR/RB?
