  1. Top 20 by RPI. School, (district) - RPI. 1 Male (4) - 0.718 2 North Hardin (2) - 0.681 3 Central Hardin (2) - 0.632 4 DuPont Manual (3) - .632 5 Trinity (Louisville) (5) - 0.617 6 Henderson County (1) - 0.599 7 McCracken County (1) - 0.598 8 St. Xavier (3) - 0.595 9 Fern Creek (4) - 0.581 10 Ballard (5) - 0.535 11 Bullitt East (2) - 0.534 12 Ryle (6) - 0.533 13 Simon Kenton (6) - 0.516 14 Southern (3) - 0.501 15 Butler (4) - 0.498 16 Oldham County (8) - 0.496 17 Barren County (5) - 0.490 18 Tates Creek (7) - 0.464 19 Daviess County (1) - 0.458 20 Paul Dunbar (7) - 0.450 I think it’s good to continue with these breakdowns as I have experienced much confusion this year with the RPI system. I have had quite a few fellow fans reach out and ask me how it works. So, if the playoffs were tomorrow and the teams with highest RPI won each round here is an example. Round 3 District 1-4 1. Male V 4. Henderson Cty 2. N. Hardin V 3 Manual District 5-8 1. Trinity V 4. Tates Creek 2. Ryle V 3. Oldham Cty Round 4 1. Male V 4. Ryle 2. N. Hardin V 3. Trinity Championship 1. Male V 2. N. Hardin
  2. RPI does speak to the level of competition a team has played though. I know most people are not RPI fans but I think playing a tough schedule should be rewarded over playing cupcakes. I know Beechwood plays larger schools great but I have never been a fan of a 6A school playing any teams 2A or 1A. I think you need to be playing 4A schools only if they are top 15 at that level and then fill the rest in with 5A and other 6A teams.
  3. Thanks for this, didn't see Holmes. Missed them. 14th Holmes .492 (3-3) 19th in 4A A Mod could add them in.
  4. IMO taking this into account, the games against each other in NKY and specifally the ranking in each division my top 10 would be. 1. Cov Cath 2. Conner 3. Highlands 4. Ryle 5. Cooper 6. SK 7. NCC 8. Beechwood 9. Lloyd 10. Newport
  5. Well if we went based of RPI: 1. Cov Cath .715 (7-0) 1st in 5A 2. NCC .669 (4-2) 6th in 1A 3. Lloyd .661 (4-2) 9th in 2A 3. Conner .633 (6-1) 5th in 5A 4. Newport .625 (6-1) 11th in 2A 5. Beechwood .619 (2-4) 12th in 2A 6. Highlands .589 (4-3) 9th in 5A 7. Scott .577 (5-2) 13th in 4A 8. Walton Verona .567 (4-3) 16th in 2A 9. Cooper .557 (4-3) 12th in 5A 10. Ryle .533 (3-4) 12th in 6A 11. Ludlow .530 (4-2) 15th in 1A 12. SK .516 (3-3) 13th in 6A 13. Dayton .515 (4-2) 17th in 1A 14. Boone .485 (2-5) 21st in 5A 15. Dixie .450 (2-4) 21st in 6A 16. Holy Cross .444 (2-4) 25th in 2A 17. Bishop Brossart .443 (2-4) 23rd in 1 18. Pendleton Cty .440 (4-2) 28th in 3A 19. Grant Cty .402 (3-4) 31st in 5A 20. Campbell Cty .385 (0-6) 28th in 6A 21. Bellevue .355 (1-5) 29th in 1A 22. Gallatin Cty .276 (0-7) 38th in 2A
  6. I think top 5 After tonight should be. 1. CovCath 2. Toss up between Conner, Highlands, SK, Ryle I don’t think you have a clear #2. You can make the argument for Highlands beating more of the top 10 but they have to be trending down.
  7. This game started as a 14-14 game that went to 21-14 with Ryle driving. Then a few questionable play calls on offense and the game quickly got out of hand. 42-14 before garbage time kicked in is a good barometer of Ryle vs a state champion caliber team. Ryle has a much more appealing schedule coming up, but all are tough district games. at Campbell at Dixie Home Senior night against SK. Which I believe will determine home field in the playoffs. The ugly part of Ryle’s schedule is over. It carried 4 brutal losses but with the new RPI system if your going to lose a game it needs to be to the best. That being said it’s time to focus on districts, hopefully the coaches and players can use Campbell to prepare for a long winning stretch. Also I hate being negative but these Madden offensive plays have to go.
  8. This is brutal. Ryle is running the same pass plays. This isn’t Madden stop going Deep left every play.
  9. Conner has a great player in Hicks. If he can have his teammates rally around him they are dangerous.
  10. The athletes are playing well but you can only pass on 1st down so many times before the other team sees the pattern. 1st pass 2nd run 3rd alternate Then telegraph your reverse on 3rd and get a false start. But run the same play anyway.
  11. I am interested to see the scores of a lot of these NKY battles tonight. I think the Beechwood game will be a good barometer for Dixie.
  12. From what I understand he quit earlier this year. Then came back to the team, understandably Engler wouldn’t put him back at QB. However fate (injuries, other circumstances) has given Stanken a 2nd chance and he seems motivated to prove it.
  13. Is Ryle’s freshman QB as good as the rumors are hyping him up to be?
  14. Ryle has found a much better QB with Stanken. The QB that started against Highlands had no business seeing varsity time that early. Also the play calling against Highlands was awful. Last week against Elder it was surprisingly better but is still very predictable. I try not to be negative on here, but the play calling needs to step it’s game up. The most important part of the schedule is two weeks away. I do believe it will as Engler’s offense relies heavily on a QB making quick throws. Stanken can do that if Engler builds the right game plan. The Oline has continued to improve and even against the monster force of Elder I thought they had a decent game. Defense is still solid and would forget Elder as their Oline was bigger than most college lines.
  15. So for example if the highest RPI would win each district the playoffs would look like this. Round 3 1. Male V 4. Henderson 2. Henderson V 3. Manual 1. Trinity V 4. Tate’s Creek 2. Ryle V 3. Oldham Cty Round 4 1. Male V 4. Ryle 2. N. Hardin V 3. Trinity Championship 1. Male V 2. Trinity
  16. What’s the word on Scott County this year? Do they have any star players that stand out like they have in the past?
  17. I agree now having witnessed both play. Royer was a solid Tight End all the way around. His blocking was great and he did not miss a ball. One of his many receptions was with a defender in his chest and it was very impressive. It will be a highlight reel play. Watching Mayer I was honestly much more impressed by his defensive ability. I went into that game only hearing the hype about him being a top rated tight end and left wondering why he’s not a top rated linebacker. Mayer is definitely a skilled athlete however in the Ryle matchup his defensive awareness is what stood out too me.
  18. Score or no score the offense moved the ball. Which last week they did not. Moving the ball against Elder will translate into better games against Dixie, Campbell, And SK.
  19. Ryle fought hard but was outmatched. A great experience of playing a high school game in the PIT. Even though they took some licks Ryle moved the ball a lot better on offense tonight than they did last week. Stanken played a good game and showed a lot of promise for the games down the stretch. Was fun but now it’s time to turn to Scott County and then hit the district stretch.
  20. Mismatch Elder is impressive however as a fan this is a great experience watching a game at the pit. Also Ryle has a QB with Stanken I’m excited to see how he does in districts.
