  1. That's why you get the football out and throw it around the backyard with Pop!
  2. "Is that why you got hurt? You really thought I was gonna trade you, huh?"
  3. Not at all what I expected from Cleveland when I woke up today. I like the Lakers trade, and I'm interested to see what Hood can provide. Also like the George Hill move for Cleveland AND Fox. Is it possible that these are the guys LeBron wants to play with and now there's a chance he stays? Not sure what contracts look like for any involved players.
  4. LeBron wins it on a modern interpretation of the Laettner shot at the buzzer. Bron also posted a triple double, passing Zydrunas Ilgauskas as the Cavs all-time leading rebounder. Joins Jordan and Garnett as only players to lead a franchise in scoring, assists, & rebounds. More importantly, the Cavs actually won a game. Korver finally made an appearance in the 4Q, JR was good, and Lue benched IT in crunch time for Cedi on the defensive end. I know it’s trendy to be way down on the Cavs, but let’s wait just a minute. I wouldn’t be shocked if they stuck with the team they have and maybe add some front court bench depth. I also wouldn’t be surprised if Deandre ends up in Cleveland tonight.
  5. I agree with this, though I would say it IS the responsibility of the coaches to make kids aware of the opportunities and gauge interest. From there, conversations with player/parents should be had about options and the coach's appraisal of the player's talent. Lots of parents have no experience with the higher education system or recruiting, and having someone to help along the way goes a long way, even if the coach isn't particularly familiar and they struggle through the process together. To me, all of that falls under "anything a coach can do to help."
  6. I follow. At least he’ll have a decent start on a resumé.
  7. Really? Given the condition of the jalopy he was handed, I'd say he's navigated the season pretty well. Not good enough? Or is he just not a big enough name?
  8. "Gum would be perfection." -Chandler Bing
  9. Whoops... I'm done talking about Duke, except to say that Carter and Bagley can carry them a long way.
  10. To be fair, a former #1 overall pick in the NFL didn’t know the sun rises in the east. And he was a QB...
  11. He made his first career start on the back end of a back-to-back after starting the front, on this, the night I chose to venture into Hoosierland for some NBA action.
  12. Blue Devils probably move up to #3 with today’s loss. Thought Allen was gonna come up big to finish it.
  13. Nothing on this earth is as valuable as the mind of a child. If caring about that is soft, you can call me Charmin.
  14. Is there a brand or model in particular you would recommend? Is there a brand or model in particular the biking community would recommend? Or the Triathlon community?
  15. Not a parent, and I wouldn't forbid my kid from playing, but there's no chance I actively encourage them to try it. As has been mentioned, the life lessons can be learned in just about any extracurricular, and at about half the physical toll, though after the Gordon Hayward-esque injury I witnessed last night on the basketball court, I might just ask the doctor to put my kids in a plastic bubble.
  16. On the bike, I'm not sure which would better suit the course. There are a few significant elevation changes, both up and down, on the Olympic course, but it isn't terribly intimidating. I've been back and forth on buying one for my daily commute in the warmer months, but those road bikes can get way up there in price.
  17. By rule, you get the entirety of every timeout, regardless who called it, but I like this rule a lot.
  18. Again, millennials aren’t solely responsible, but a lot of the old establishment’s dirty secrets are being aired for the whole world to see. Bet there’s a whole lotta people who feel like a whole lotta ‘isms are crumbling around them.
  19. Hiring Cal. Wall and Boogie beating UL WVU/Vandy Aaron Harrison’s late game heroics in the tournament.
  20. I'd love to see some "alternate ending" versions of books. None come to mind in particular, but the concept is interesting.
  21. Form may not be great, but I ain't gonna drown.
  22. Millennials killed the atmosphere at high school sporting events.
  23. I know there's a triathlon-er around here somewhere. I'm curious what training you would recommend to be prepared by July? That seems like more than enough time to me. I'm still undecided between the "Sprint" and "Olympic" group because I've never ran more than three miles at once. Some other questions that come to mind: What is the proper attire for biking and running following a swim? Any way to prevent chaffing? What's the ideal bike set up? Will I regret agreeing to this race?
  24. Fans leaving lower arena seats with the cats down about 5 with SGA going to the line near the end of regulation. We really don’t deserve such a successful program.
