  1. Not difficult at all. It shouldn't sell out as a lot of students have either gone home or are heading home tomorrow. The university changed when the dorms will close (it's now some time Saturday, not sure on the time) so some students will stay, but again it shouldn't sell out. Through JMU's sports website, you can get a reserved seat for $25 (before a small fee) or sit in general admission for $15. Parking is another story, but I'm also pretty sure you can park at the local Wal-Mart for free. It's just a decent walk from there to the stadium, not too bad though. To answer your second question: JMU is located in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
  2. And then there were four. First up we have Sam Houston State making the trip to the FargoDome to take on powerhouse North Dakota State. This should be a fun matchup, as SHSU gets another chance to prove they can play with the big guys. The game is tomorrow at 8:00 P.M. EST on ESPN2. The second game is between the defending national champions James Madison and South Dakota State. JMU will be the host as they look to carry the momentum gained in their dramatic win over Weber State last week. SDSU comes in with a lot of weapons and has the tools to upset the Dukes. This one is Saturday at 4:30 P.M. EST on ESPNU. Thoughts? Predictions?
  3. This has by far been one of the most nerve-wracking days in my life. Today the MLS Board of Governors met and most likely voted on which two teams would get into the MLS. While there won't be any official announcement until next week, it is almost certain that the winners will be leaked. Here's the news we have so far: MLS released a statement regarding expansion. It says they discussed the bids of the four cities and that "League officials and the MLS Expansion Committee will continue to work with the four finalists and plan to have more details shortly." Either they didn't vote today or it's just a "Nothing has changed, keep waiting" kind of thing. Nobody really knows. An MLS spokesperson unveiled how the teams will be announced. Pretty much they're going to hold an event in the cities they choose. Enter Miami. MLS Board of Governors approved of Miami's new owners and will make another announcement before the 2018 season. They are expected to begin to play in 2020. I was hoping that MLS would announce Miami is yet again delayed and they bring in 3 teams instead of 2, but that's not happening. Don't expect an official announcement until next week where they'll have ceremonies for the winning cities. Be on the lookout for leaks. Also, Pat Brennan is doing a great job today on keeping people up to date. I feel for him, as fans are asking him questions he has either already answered or acting as if they know more than him. Here's the link to his Twitter.
  4. Yes, but only for the next 30 days. Here's the link to it. Skip to about 8:10 for the start of the game!
  5. Ugggggh. As said on the St. Henry broadcast, that’s a gut punch for the Cru.
  6. I haven't been able to watch them this year, but St. X hasn't won a GCL game since 2012. Elder might at least have those 2 games. Other than that, you're right in that GCL will be similar to football. Moeller and LaSalle will battle it out.
  7. I was there. Craziest game I've ever seen, and I was at the St. X vs. Sycamore regional final game last year. I can't feel my toes but I don't care! I knew our offensive struggles would hurt us. It didn't help that for a couple drives our defense crumbled. I stood in the section right behind the end zone where Batchelor made the catch between the two defenders. Gotta give him credit, that was an amazing grab. Stapleton killed it. Marshall rushing for 128 yards helped us immensely. Now it's time for finals week! I hope that those who watched enjoyed FCS football! It's definitely entertaining, especially come playoff time.
  8. Wow. Gotta love when mid-majors win over P5 teams! Little side discussion: Boise State beat Loyola (IL) by 34. Boise to the top 5?
  9. Ohhhhh man I can't wait for the bowl game against Oregon. Hopefully they don't hit us with a 1-2 punch :lol2:
  10. Never expected it to be close. But St. Henry's freshmen/JV teams seem to be competitive, so I'm thinking in a few years when our young talent gets better, the games will be a lot closer. Also doesn't help that we have no answer to Walter.
  11. Vieth jumper gives St. Henry their first win of the year.
  12. I went to a game tonight that inspired me to write this post, so I'll get the ball rolling. So George Mason traveled down I-81 to face in-state rival and my school James Madison. JMU had a 71-67 lead with 7 seconds left in the game. Start getting your things, the game is about to be over, right? Wrong. With 7 seconds remaining in the contest, GMU hit a 3 and not only that, but the ref called an off-the-ball foul on JMU. Since George Mason was in bonus, the guy went to the free throw line. First one is good, second one also good. Great, so from up 4 to down 1 in the blink of an eye. GMU held a 72-71 lead and the arena was stunned. However, at this point, there was still a chance for a game-winning shot. Fans kept their hope and still cheered on. On the JMU inbound, just as the ball was about to be thrown in, the ref blew his whistle once again. Time-out? Nope. Something on the court? Not that either. He called another foul on JMU. Patriots go to the line and make both of their free throws. 74-71 in favor of the traveling George Mason Patriots. The students, fans and ESPECIALLY the head coach of JMU were livid. As a spectator, I wouldn't say the calls were blatantly wrong, but they were questionable. The game must go on, with JMU trying to drive down the court and heave up a 3, but our guard was fouled before he could've gotten a shot off (which was a very smart play by GMU, one that some teams forget to do and it ends up hurting them). The first free throw was made and the second one was intentionally missed, but GMU grabbed the rebound. The game eventually ended 76-72, with George Mason still having some magic for their basketball team. Disclaimer: I'm not pinning this on the refs. We left a lot of guys on George Mason wide open and they hit their shots. Anyways, what's the craziest ending to a game you've ever seen? Whether it's grade school, high school, college, NBA, at your childhood hoop playing 21, let's hear it!
  13. Thank you! I had the mindset that if he can't do it against the big boys, he shouldn't get the hype. Plus... it wasn't as if he played okay. They got demolished. But yes, you can't judge a sophomore going against that defense. I wish I could've gotten to watch him this year.
  14. That's great he's focusing on his development. Is there any way I can watch a live stream of the state championship? When he started to get hype built around him, I made sure to go to the St. X vs CCH game (and because Go Bombers), but I remember not being impressed then. Probably why I have always been iffy. But now it seems he's really picked it up.
  15. Football. Like multiple users have said above, classes help. However, it does also depend on how you define a "dynasty". Do you mean a team that wins multiple regional titles? Just simply contends for the regional title? Is in the discussion?
  16. I've seen Mayer play three times. The first time was in 2015 against St. X at Nippert (which was a 57-7 win for X), second was last year against Ryle and the third was last year against Beechwood. I see the talent, but I think it's a stretch to say he's Big 10 talent. Even if he'd get an offer from a good P5 school, why go there and risk not ever being the starter when you could go to a good school and be able to compete right from the start?
  17. Room for improvement for the Cru but definitely seems like they can be a dangerous team as the season goes on. Vieth impressed... And he's only a freshman
  18. 7 - Williamstown 5 - Villa Madonna 3 - NCC 2 - Boone County 1 - Mason County TB: Boone County
  19. DeVier Posey (LaSalle, OSU) and Rico Murray (Moeller, Kent State) both play for Toronto. Armanti Edwards, who you may remember as the QB for Appalachian State when they beat Michigan, is a WR for the Argos.
  20. St. Henry Radio: None Online (Audio Only): The Cube Keep in mind it’s a student-run broadcast! It’s something I started last year and a freshman is taking over this year.
  21. I was told by the successor to St. Henry broadcasting that the Vieth looks good for St. Henry. He also mentioned the JV team looked solid. Can't wait to see how St. Henry does in the future!
