I think it's up in the air right now. If I had to guess: Malik Wright Mickey Pearson Anthony Witherspoon Jachai Walker and one of the following Aaron Scott Darion Davis Quashaun (don't remember his last name) Davis is just too inconsistent at the point for coaches liking right now I think

5th Region no show. Guess last year's showing at Rupp didn't do the region any favors. John Hardin (if all stays in place) will be a top 15 team in the state, wish they could have made this field. In any case I'll be in the building to watch. Good field.

Fairly sure the name is Aspire. It will be a very good basketball school once it gets it's footing. Jalen needs exposure at this moment. He hasn't had a very good AAU team exposure wise to showcase his abilities, and it doesn't matter who you are you have to play in front of these coaches on the biggest of stages. So as much as he may love Hopkinsville, his high school team can't compare to the grind session/circuit that Aspire will be able to provide to him. If he is on a good AAU team for this next July viewing period and picks up some offers then all this may change. But as is, I don't think he has a choice but to go to Aspire. Purple I think this is a prep school out of Arizona.

He is legit 6'6....frame has filled out well also. Kid started with 22 vision early on and it derailed his recruitment a lot. He would easily have more offers had he been with someone else in that early period. I think he's with the Louisville Magic now, so hopefully it works out for him in July. He will be a bigger problem for the region this year than last. As for the team; I don't know about that one though. He will get a lot of junk defenses and double teams against the tougher teams. This is "summer ball" in a nutshell. I watched John Hardin play a couple of times....Mickey Pearson played about 2 qtrs. in each game. I don't blame Mickey or Faulkner or the coaches for that matter. Playing 2 or 3 summer league games a day is pointless, especially when it pertains to a tournament setting.

Very impressive. Congrats to the young man. I've seen him up live and in person, kid is legit and I hope he stays at BG. I would love to continue to watch his growth as a person and player.

I'm certain there's some truth to that statement. And in that case it didn't work out for Jr. That year that Jr. was held back had no bearing on the end result that he probably was never gonna be a D1 athlete. Going to some of these tournaments I see the development of some of these kids a year older, and it absolutely is a game changer. Each parent has to weigh their individual situation differently, as it may not be the best answer for your child.

A lot of kids on the shoe circuit are "hold backs". If your kid is remotely a D1 prospect in basketball, you might want to think about it long and hard. College coaches don't seem to frown on it; and that one year difference is huge in the kids body development. I don't see anything wrong with it, almost seems brilliant.

Truth is alot of the Jr's played well in the game...Jalen, Mickey, Cobe, Treyvon, Adam, Andrew, Skyler. They shot the ball real good especially from behind the arc. And I'm fairly sure they could have stole the game at the end. There were only a couple of kids on the Jr team that maybe appeared a little bit off.

Very few screens set in all star settings. Typically you have to be able to get your own shot. I thought the Jr"s played well overall. Taylor missed a shot that he normally makes

It may serve a JV developmental type purpose for those kids that are new/fairly new to playing time. But for those returning starters or returning players with significant playing time; summer ball is a total waste of time. 7 to 8 games for the entire summer and that's about it. The AAU kids are never gonna get their legs back for the July sessions, not to mention risk of injury.

Good hire I think. John will be in transition this year. The only leadership (whether you think it was good or bad) is now gone with Coach Lewis and his dad. This group of Seniors are not great leaders and is skirting on the edge of being down right bad. The transient community issue is why leadership is so important at a school like John Hardin. The talent will almost always be there win the district. Coach E has his work cut out for him but I think he can get it done.

Great write up Coach. I can only speak for the player that I know and follow Mickey Pearson. Mickey had a slow start this year with 22 vision for a couple of reasons. The team is wing heavy but more so due to the proverbial stretch 4 moniker that seems to be following him. His minutes declined because he looked to be playing a role on the team not suitable to his skill set. 22 vision runs alot of 3 out 2 in to get screens for Langford. He took a gamble with 22 vision and hasn't quite worked out yet. Mickey is unique in the fact thst he can shoot and can handle the ball adequately enough to play the 3. The biggest problem he has is everyone loves him at this new flavor of the month "stretch 4" EXCEPT THE SCHOOLS RECRUITING HIM. so he could embrace the stretch 4 role and move up in the next up recruits ranking....or he can continue to work on improving his skill set to get the scholarships that he desires. He should be able to get more minutes with Taylor leaving 22 vision. I think if hoop drrams would have stayed on the gold bracket he would be able to showcase what he can do. They had groomed him for 2 years to play the 3. But HD got bumped to silver and so on and so on.
