Sounds like a close battle between 2 good teams. Congrats to the Lady Pioneers on the hard fought victory!

I am not interested in disparaging any teams but SK continues to hold their own after 5 point loss to "the best team in the state" and then beat GRC by 23 last night. I expect them to do pretty well this year.

When did flyball fielding fundamentals disappear?
Pop replied to Oldercoach's topic in Major League Baseball (MLB)
While it did not aways look easy to me, I saw both of these HOF players often make the 2 handed basket catch at the waist level by choice, generally on high, routine fly balls! -

What about the old timer basket catch, perfected by Roberto Clemente and Willie Mays? I believe they used 2 hands. I don't remember any disasters with those but my memory isn't as strong as it once was. -
Terrible news! I remember Jared best when he played basketball with my son at Woodland Middle School. Nice guy, prayers to his family.

He appears to be a good, versatile pickup who will fill in nicely next year! Is it too much to ask for Jaden McDaniels to join him?

Over the last several years, there have been many girls leave this program, reportedly to concentrate on other sports. There are also a couple who have transferred to other schools.

I believe all these nay-sayers are incorrect. Not to say that he couldn't be a little less negative, Mick Cronin doesn't sugar-coat how he feels and tells the truth. He is an excellent coach who is successful with less than top talent. I'l bet he will continue to be successful in any of the open coaching positions he is rumored to be in the running for if he does leave UC.

Sorry, I was speaking about the girls tournament.

Did not Anderson County win the 30th district over Collins? I thought Collins beat Spencer County in the first round! Please advise!

Antonio Brown Officially Requests Trade
Pop replied to ChickenWyngz's topic in National Football League (NFL)
Brown is an exceptional football player but has acted like a spoiled teenager off the field in the past couple years. Might also want to add L. Bell to this conversation as less than a team player. Can't help but believe Mike Tomlin has displayed a lack of support/direction with these guys. -
Game was a bit shaky early but the Norse kept pushing and finished strong! They are now 8-1 in the Horizon League, 18-4 overall and 13-0 at BB&T!

Morgan Stamper of Simon Kenton 1000th Point!
Pop replied to HowiCit's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
Since elementary school Morgan has been an example of what can result from hard work! Congratulations on this accomplishment and best wishes going forward. -
Nice win for the Lady Pioneers. Their schedule has been brutal!

Over zealous Penn State defenders caused both of those out of bound hits/collisions between Lynn Bowden and cameramen and bystanders. That poor women got rocked and appeared to be hurt (but should have known that when walking or standing on the sidelines, it is imperative that everyone be aware of what is happening on the field)!
