I'm talking Mason. Did they have timeouts left? Just seems as if there could have been a little more effort to manage that last 20 seconds.

On a more positive note, very glad to see Mason had a bit of fight left in postseason!

How do you let the final play of the game play out against a 2-3 zone? Uncontested 15 ft shot with minimal ball movement to win the game. From listening to the game online and watching highlights through Twitter, it seemed as if Scott knew to draw up a 2-3 play to win it. With 2 to give, why stick with it? At least call a time out (not sure if they had any left) to switch it up and talk about the situation. Disappointing way for the Royals to end a roller coaster season.

GRC - Campbell PC - Mason PC - Campbell Finals with Campbell taking another trip to Rupp! Would love to see Mason make a run but contrary to my semi-final predictions think they are very likely to see a first round exit! I personally agree that it is a 3 team race overall. While I do think there can be upsets that push Scott and Paris into the championship game, one of the three (GRC, CC, PC) are going to the dance. Hope everyone enjoys the popcorn at the Fieldhouse!! Greatest region venue in the state!

Is he staying? If Young is the hire, Gilbert will be the only one that knows the kids. Could be a good resource. Has he been running preseason workouts? I know he was with them during the summer.

I am hearing this decision should be here by Thursday. Maybe late tonight? Just hope the kids aren't getting restless waiting on this hire. More and more of them are starting to play football.

Kids have got to be ready to know who is going to be chief this year. Any news from interviews this weekend?

I've heard Huff and Hamlin's name a few times. I watched Gilbert coach the freshman a few games at the KBA this summer. Had his frosh team looking good. I've heard a few the kids want Hamlin. I assume the ones wanting Hamlin are the guys which played JV with him last year.

Interviews should be on the way this weekend.

Trevon will play WR and Safety for Coach B and the football Titans. He has to have 10 days of practice on field before he can play in a contest. Expect to see him week 5, possibly week 4. I also agree that he will graduate from Mercer Co. I expect to him to grow into a leader for the basketball team this year with his voice and actions. Should be exciting to watch him in both sports!!

IMO, the girls from Mason County should be the favorites. Excited to see what this group can do in their last go around in blue and white. Stellar coaching through their younger years. Same guy also played part in the 2010 boys group that made a run to Final 4. Look for Whitney O'mara to have a big year for the Lady Royals. Good luck to Coach Cox and the girls!

Anyone have the inside scoop on when this decision may be coming?

I heard Hamlin just went with the girls program. If he did get fired by Cook, I wonder if that will have any impact on their decision regarding his efforts to get the job.

I also am disappointed in the recent play of Mason Co. football. IMO, the sports program as a whole there is on a downhill ride unfortunately. Someone check my facts here. I believe the 3 year "history" goes to Fleming, but wasn't the previous 10 years pretty well in Mason's favor? Credit to Top-10 ranked Fleming for their play, but feel as if they are simply taking advantage of the poor play of Mason recently.
