I agree with you. But with my old school (Holmes) refusing to get rid of Listerman as coach means Carr will have to wait another year for that to open. One year at NewCath would not be a bad opportunity while he waits for Holmes' administration to rescue our basketball program from the old Dayton High School mentality we are currently enduring with the superintendent, AD, etc.

Not if they hide under PERSONNEL actions. Can't be FOIAed in that case. That's the way schools keep stuff from the media. FERPA is the worst thing to ever happen in getting info on scandals from pillars of education.

I assume NewCath does not have student/staff recording coaches and teachers...how about Brad Carr to NewCath as head coach if Dawn retires? Timing is interesting.

Seriously, Ron Dawn retiring. Just a guess. He's been around a long time. Complete rebuilding next year for NewCath. Adds up, right?

Apparently, NewCath is getting a transfer from Newport named Wiggins.

From looking at the thread, it looks like an Oldham County person started it. Owen County and Oldham County are both in the 8th Region. I suspect Owen County had a hand in the information. Just a guess.

Keeping kids out of school has nothing to do with it. It's a facility issue.

If Taylor County had put together the type of PR campaign that Owen County did for Williams, Goodin might have won.

Congrats to Dunbar. They were by far the best team in the state. Very deserving champions. Doss is also a very good team. The two best teams played for the title today.

Agree with you 100%. The Owen County people planted a number of Carson Williams seeds in flyers, posters, emails, message boards, twitter, Facebook, etc., and the results were unreal exposure for a guy at very small high school. I couldn't tell you prior to this state tournament who Dunbar's best player was, but I knew all about Carson Williams, the next Larry Bird. That thread here at BGP multiplied into massive PR for Williams all over the state and even over in Indiana. Props to Owen County for thinking ahead.

Only the outfit that runs Rupp Arena can answer that question.

It's all a moot point. Rupp can not (or will not) accommodate a Tuesday for four games so it the format remains the same.

Carson Williams also had a tremendous PR campaign put together by the Owen County people, including lots of publicity here on BGP. Remember the thread comparing Carson to Larry Bird?!?! That thread received all kinds of play on twitter, Facebook, it even made some local radio talk shows. The PR machine of Owen County helped Williams, Goodin received very little PR statewide.

They're kids. Who cares what they say about other teams? Anyone on here who says they didn't mock opposing schools when they were in high school is lying or in deep denial. Let it go!

Tuesday (4 games),Wednesday (4 games),Thurday (4 games) ,Friday (2 games),Saturday (championship.) Makes too much sense to happen.

I was attending the state tournament and talked with Mason County fans about the incident(s) before the game. I had no idea of what caused it and wanted to know. The Mason fans I spoke with were very embarrassed by the administration's handling of many things in regard to Pig Williams and other athletes. The consensus from Mason's fans was bad behavior has been tolerated and "looking the other way" is prevalent by the administration. It sounds like Pig Williams should never have been on the team this year had they followed their own rules internally. Now if that's the case, Campbell, Paris, Augusta all have legit gripes if Mason did not apply measures when its own rules were broken. That's why the 10th Region needs to look at this. I am not a Mason County hater, and I am not a fan. I just spoke with their own fans at the state and got the story from them.

Maybe if the Mason County administrators and coaches had followed their own guidelines regarding discipline earlier, Pig Williams would not have even played in the district, much less the regional. This comes from Mason County's own fans this week. If the people governing Mason County's own rules can't enforce their own standards, simply to win games, that's a problem the 10th Region needs to look at. It sounds like the only reason Williams was dealt with right before the state tourney was because the "wrong" people would not look the other way. Some of the Mason County people appear to be good people who are outraged by the administration. We will find out if Campbell, Paris, and Augusta's administrators decide to press this issue about a post season ban.

Weyer is a great player for NewCath. I hope they win the state. The question was asked about can he be stopped, some of us said yes and pointed out why and how. That is not diminishing him as a high school player at all.
