  1. I could tell that by Bellarmine's 100-80 loss to Ferris State the other day.
  2. You really should stop acting like you know what is going on at NKU with John Brannen. You're not even close with that comment. Maybe you should attend a game now and then instead of just making comments in this forum.
  3. How did he show interest when Weyer has already signed? That would be a violation.
  4. What does that mean? Goodin says he thought he is the best player in the state. Most people agree with him.
  5. That is why this is a forum. It's a good thread to discuss players.
  6. Goodin is big-time Division I. Weyer is Division II because his lack of quickness and athletic ability to guard D-1 players. No lateral quickness in D-1 will get you plenty of bench time when you're 6-7. He will be fine at Bellarmine. Maybe he can transfer to NKU after a couple of years. Oh, I forgot...they stopped recruiting him. lol
  7. If he's reading these posts and it messes with his head, he will struggle to even play at the D-2 level. I think he's more mature than that. He seems like he is a good kid, just not a D-1 player. There's no shame in that at all. Quit making a big deal out of it.
  8. Sounds like you're one of those guys who says "I got a secret but I'm not telling anyone" and doesn't know anything in reality. Didn't you say a month ago you were through posting on this forum? You can't even tell the truth with something as simple as that, so why would anyone believe anything else you post?
  9. That's what I said, and why he is playing at Bellarmine and not Xavier, UK, Louisville, Western Ky., etc. He's a good high school player. Goodin is a spectacular high school player as is Sloan.
  10. Her name is Sydney Moss, not Cindy. I could care less about Carson Williams, so you're wrong there as well. Weyer is not in the same league as Goodin, and that's what I said. Sounds like you have an emotional investment in Weyer. Get over it and face facts he is a D-2 player. Nothing wrong with D-2.
  11. Weyer has trouble with athletic players who body up on him. If Goodin plays against him, Goodin is too quick and way too athletic for Weyer. Remember that Weyer is a Division II player, Goodin is a big-time Division I recruit who can defend guards or forwards. That would be a bad matchup for Weyer, who has limited quickness and ball handling skills.
  12. But it sounds like Pig Williams should not have been on the court for those games had the Mason County administration followed its own internal policies. Campbell County should be seething since Williams apparently hit a game-winning shot against them in the regional. Shame on Mason County if this is true.
  13. According to their own fans last night, Mason County has known about several things regarding the current saga for quite some time. Or at least past episodes that were "overlooked" during the season. No one seemed surprised by the event, just that it took so long for someone to act.
  14. I have no idea what if anything the KHSAA could do. I think this is something the 10th Region schools have to huddle about. One player would not have made a bit of difference tonight as the Royals were completely overmatched by Taylor County's athletic ability and skill. But the one player apparently hit a game winning 3-pointer against Campbell County and was the difference in the game against Paris I was told tonight. Still, Taylor County wins this game by 15-20 points even if Mason was at full strength.
  15. If you don't punish the program, no message is sent. If they fire an administrator or coach, they just pack up and find a job at another school. Mason County's basketball program, if this stuff is fact, needs to be punished. That's fine if they fire some of the people who are involved, but three schools in the 10th Region I would think are not real pleased tonight in Paris, Augusta, and Campbell County.
  16. I am not sure who can impose such a penalty. I would think a school can do a self-imposed ban if put under enough pressure from other schools in the region.
  17. Great win for South Oldham. Should be a really good game with South Laurel. Both teams well coached, players compete very hard, both teams know how to find the open man.
  18. I'm not a Mason County person, so I have no dog in this fight. The Mason County folks I spoke with were very apologetic for the way a lot of things have been handled internally for a while. It's up to the superintendents, principals, and athletic directors of Augusta, Paris and Campbell to address this with the 10th Region Board. Suffice it to say I would imagine Julian Tackett and the KHSAA will at least peek at what is being tossed out there. If I were a fan of Paris, Campbell, Augusta, I would want Mason County banned from district and regional play at least next year. No excuses.
  19. I feel sorry for Campbell County, Paris, and Augusta. After hearing tonight from some of Mason County's own fans the backstory to the ongoing saga, the 10th Region should look to impose a postseason ban on the Royals next season. This game wasn't even interesting unless you were a Taylor County fan. Campbell, Paris, or Augusta should have been the 10th Region representative. Very sad situation.
  20. A pretty good player, but not even in the same ballpark as Williams, Goodin or Faulkner. Edwards a D-2 player possibly, but at 5-7 or 5-8 he is way too small to guard anybody. I stood next to him before the game and he seems closer to 5-6 than 5-8. I am about 5-9 and had 2-3 inches on him. He's is quick, but his team is too concerned about who is going to score instead of passing the ball to open teammates. That's why they are going home early.
  21. South Laurel has a very good chance to be in the state championship game. They control tempo and take very good shots. Doss is similar to Christian County and will have a very tough time adapting to the pace of South Laurel. I think South Laurel will beat Doss and advance to the semifinals. Doss is good at penetrating and getting to the basket, but their outside shooting is also suspect. They also play a lot of the 1-on-1, which got Christian County into trouble today.
  22. Losing today in the first round of the Sweet 16 would not have helped him, either.
  23. Totally agree about the tempo. South Laurel dictated the pace, took their time, made Christian County work on defense and just broke them down. Edwards can't shoot from the outside, but he did make some nice moves to the basket. But he's only 5-7 or 5-8 at most, and shooting over him was easy for the taller South Laurel guards. Edwards would be a pretty good D-2 or NAIA player, but the posters in here comparing him to Hickey are way off in their evaluations. Nice high school player, but his lack of height will make it tough.
  24. From what I saw, South Laurel a much better team. Christian County has individual talent, no concept of playing together. Edwards is a good player, needs to learn to pass the ball.
  25. South Laurel just stopped Edwards and Christian County. His show in Rupp was very brief. A pretty good player, but doesn't exactly like to pass the ball. He shot it at every opportunity. Christian County ran into a team that is very unselfish and looks for the open man. That's why Christian County is gone after one game.
