Yes, there is no question Bracken County was one of the all-time greatest basketball squads who were robbed of a possible state title because they lost early in the district. Boo-hoo.

I could care less about seeding, one way or the other. I'd love to see an NCAA blind draw like they did in the 1960s and 1970s, but TV won't allow that any longer. It eliminates the "coincidental" 1982 UK/Louisville bracket that Middle Tennessee State busted with its upset of UK. The seeding is for TV purposes nowadays, put together by corrupt athletic directors of Power 5 schools. Ask the folks at Valpo about that. As far as medals? NO, I DON'T. That's my point. Be a man, play the best, and if you get beat, don't make excuses. Try to get better. It appears Bracken County was a mediocre basketball team, got beat early, and they didn't deserve to win a regional.

Was my post this difficult to understand? If Bracken County were this powerful squad with regional/state aspirations, they were gonna have to beat good teams. Who cares if it's the first round or beyond? Bottom line is this: They got beat, fair and square, and the whining from the adults commences. If Kentucky wanted an effective and sure-fire way to eliminate this "we're district runner-up and proud" mentality, do away with the district runner-up as a regional participant. ONLY the winner of the districts advance, and you have better four-team regionals. But then the small-school mentality will take over again and we'll hear "But that's not fair." Life isn't fair. You make your own breaks. The kids aren't at fault here, it's the soft, flabby, entitled adults who are crying.

You are so wrong with that statement. They had a chance in the district and LOST. They were not good enough. Period. They lost. You act like they were banned from the postseason. The players decided it on the court, not a bunch of soft parents and administrators who always want to take the easy way in life. Play the best, beat the best, and you will be the best. Try doing that.

Yes, we can see how much better off with all the crime, hatred, hunger, etc., that is much better off than right after World War II. Right.

I have two boys and three girls. Neither boy has ever said anything about the agendas you mentioned, and both play high school sports. They only care about playing the game. The girls, thankfully, have stayed away from sports.

The regular season is meaningless as far as a playoff goes. It always has been, always will be, seeding or no seeding. So you play three seeding games. What about the other 25 games? They are meaningless, right? Let's just play the three seeding games and forget the other 25 because they, in your opinion, are meaningless, right? No. The game is foe the kids, not for you so you can log onto BGP and tell everyone how proud you are that your school has advanced to the regional.

Funny thing is, many older folks will tell you today this country was WAY BETTER OFF than 50 years ago than now. Progress sometimes just means going the wrong way. Newer is not always better.

If the players aren't whining, who cares what Coach A thinks. Coach A and Principal B only care about their own agendas. I'm not talking about accepting things because it's always been that way. I'm talking about high school players who don't care about seeds, time of games, or who gets the most exposure on TV. It's a freaking game, played by kids, and, unfortunately, being ruined by a bunch of adults who are destroying this nation brick-by-brick. Just ask poor Brad Carr at Scott.

C+ at best. They feast on a regular-season table filled with cream puffs, and then they get indigestion when they have to play a worthy opponent in the playoffs - a team that lost by about 60 points to someone earlier in the season. I would say a B-, but play CovCath or an Ohio Division I program so we can gauge how good you are.

I give Highlands a C- just because the season wasn't typical (or average) for the Birds. But if you give Highlands a C-, what does that mean for a program like CovCath that was beaten twice by the Birds? Do you give the Colonels a D- or F?

The Entitled Generation continues to keep whining, but it's not the kids who are crying—it's the adults who can't keep their grimy hands off sports. The players could care less about seeding, who they play, or any other political, agenda-driven cause that coaches, athletic directors, and principals use for their own self-preservation. That's all this is about. It is not what's best for the kids, like just letting them play sports without a lot of adult-driven drama. Who cares if a team is seeded? If you plan on winning any championship worth its salt, you're gonna have to beat great teams along the way. These small-school advocates are coaches and administrators who just try to further their own chances for success, not the kids. Shame on Bracken County and its so-called leaders. And I'm not pro or con toward seeding. If it's basketball, you only need five players on the court, and only two have to be really good if your goal is a regional title. Seen it many times from small and big schools. Enrollment isn't the reason you win or lose in basketball. Neither is seeding. It's just another excuse from agenda-driven adults. You don't hear the kids whining about it.

What some are missing is the point a search committee is just bells and whistles. There is one person who makes the call for hiring the head coach. Those of us who know are well aware Minor has applied and openly lobbied for the job. This @TommyGavin is just clueless.

Shannon Minor is the choice I just heard from people close to the Kenton County SB. The parents might be clamoring for Brad Carr to return after a year of Coach Minor. No one at Scott HS does background checks it looks like.

The guy they thought would apply decided to stay away because of the uproar it would create. I don't blame him. This job looks like a no-win situation with the parents and Kenton County SB.

He retired as a high school in coach in Michigan long before moving to NKY.

Buyer beware in this case. You are spot on. Some principals and school board people never learn from others schools mistakes.

He has a job at Holmes, in case you haven't paid attention. I know players that played for him and no one says anything out of the ordinary that any typical college player would say about a coach. If you know so much, tell us what they say. Crickets I bet.

At least we know Jay Plitzuweit is not a candidate for the Scott HS job. His wife, the former NKU coach, is heading to the frigid state of South Dakota. I understand many of the NKU people are throwing a party at this news. Three underclassmen quit the NKU women's team recently because of Dawn Plitzuweit. Maybe they will reconsider now that she's gone.

This is not true. Bezold will remain in this area. I was told today he still is deciding whether to apply at Scott HS. If he does, job is his. Professionally it would not be a great decision for him if he does want to return to the college game one day. Financially, it makes sense. That's assuming his lawsuit against NKU is still pending. I have no idea where that stands. I would say @Jack of all Trades might have insight to the Bezold status as it relates to Scott HS.

That's why of the rumors are correct, Scott HS makes plenty of sense. Someone posted earlier he has not applied yet. @Jack of all Trades? What have you heard?

I'm sure he is. But something has to open first. If Holmes opened up, I could see him there, but we're stuck with Listerman for another year.
