On a positive note, the Bluebirds beat Covington Catholic twice and they were a couple of plays away from beating Pulaski County and making to the 5A Title Game. Additionally, Highlands improved and peaked at the right time of the year, they just didn't have enough nickels in their pocket.

 

To the negative, Highlands not only lost some games they would not normally win but the Bluebirds got pounded by several teams. Among other things, 2015 was proof why most smaller schools have no business playing good 6A teams.

 

Do you agree with a C+ for Highlands? What grade do you give the Bluebirds?

C+ Sounds about right. C for getting pounded by Ryle and SK. + for making to semi's? It is weird for a semi-finalist team to get a grade of a C+ though. It feels like Highlands' standards are skewing the grade maybe? If Cov Cath had beaten Highlands and lost to Pulaski in the same fashion in the semis would they get a C+?

Preseason thread "contender or pretender" for Highlands says something. Some even saying that HHS would have a losing season. They lost to a couple of good 6A NKY teams, but ended the season on a big playoff run. I give HHS a B+ because they got knocked out in the 5A semi's when nobody gave them a chance.

I don't think you can give them a B+ just because they ended up losing like 5 regular season games or something like that. I think a B- or C+ fits because they did have a good playoff run but those regular season beatings they took from Cooper, Ryle, SK, Scott County, have to be brought into the grade.

With the way Highlands finished I can certainly see something in the B Range but I just can't climb that high.

No, Boone should petition the state for hardship. The Rebels should be playing teams like Lloyd and Beechwood.

Solid B, they sucked during the regular season, plain and simple. Yet came back strong in the playoffs. Surprised the hell out of me.

C+ seems reasonable. I was leaning for a C but the improvement through the year swayed me a little higher.

2nd semester weighted a bit heavier.

Since everyone has their own grading criteria that would only matter if the same person gave HHS a higher grade than PC, don't think that's happened, has it? That would be crazy if true.

I have Highlands in the C+, B- range. I have to give them some credit for how they finished the season. I definitely didn't expect them to give Pulaski County the game they gave them. Those regular season beat downs are hard to forget though. I can't go higher an B- and can't go lower than a C.
