All correct. Beware to those who might consider.

He was also the girls coach at Holy Cross at one time.

Ask Jack of All Trades. It helps when you know the highest-ranking person on the Kenton County School Board. Applying for the opening is a formality. Shannon Minor?!?!?! lol.

They are, from what I am told. Bezold will be allowed to choose his own people. That only makes sense given what has gone on out there. If everything being tossed out there is correct, Bezold could have a basketball legend in this area in an advisory role and a member of the staff. Stay tuned for that one.

Now that spring break is over, let's see how quickly Scott acts to get this coaching vacancy filled and announced. My guess is by May 1.

I'm sure Bezold would prefer to coach college, but he also is in the Kentucky retirement system and needs to accumulate more years and Scott HS is a public school. The fact Scott HS has a ton of talent coming up and Ohmer makes this an appealing job. The funny part is NKU's top two assistants both resigned recently, Ragland and Nored. People inside are saying they had had enough of the 24/7 work requirements set by Brannen. I like Brannen and think he will do fine as a head coach, but losing your top two assistants after less than a year on the job is not good. He's talked with a junior college coach down in Florida about taking one of the assistant positions at NKU. Bezold has to be chuckling at that whole situation now. lol

Doesn't relate to the kids. He is off in some other galaxy when he tries to communicate to them. It's time for him to retire and enjoy life. If Holmes doesn't act soon, you will see the kids stay away and the results will be like this past season. Nothing against Listerman, but his message doesn't work these days.

If the Holmes administration had any common sense, they would have hired Bezold as the next head coach to replace Listerman. Scott HS people acted with vision for the future, unlike Holmes.

There is no "conspiracy" at all. Carr was let go for legit reasons. Please stop blaming Trame for it. The hiring of Bezold is after the fact, not a result of some conspiracy. Next thing you will try to say "both Trame and Bezold are Holy Cross guys, so..." Not the case. Scott needs a coach. Bezold is the most qualified guy out there by far. Easy hire for Scott.

Dayton 2016
For Dayton's sake, I hope you are right. Hard to field football with 15-20 players.

All you said is spot on. Lives in Taylor Mill, is familiar with the players and parents, knows basketball like few coaches in the region. Bezold is a good person. I'm very glad he is getting back into coaching after what happened to him at NKU. Good things happen to good people, and congrats to David.

JOAT answered it already. He knew as well.

I'm a Holmes grad and would love to see Bezold as our head coach next year, but it appears we have to suffer through another year of Listerman. Bezold will make an outstanding coach at Scott. The parents will love him, he knows the game and has coached at the D-1 level, and the 10th Region will have serious contender in Scott HS with Bezold as the coach. He is at Holmes as a teacher right now, I hate to see him go when the Bulldogs need a real coach. Best of luck to him at Scott is this is correct.

Dayton 2016
If they have a good foundation, why only 15 players? That's screaming lack of interest.

A very well-known name locally is going to be the choice I heard tonight. Anyone?

Dayton 2016
The only talk about a so-called Campbell County North HS was here on BGP. There was never any discussion among school boards or cities about it. I believe Dayton will eventually stop fielding football due to the low numbers. Silver Grove does not have football, St. Henry does not have football, CovLatin no football, Calvary Christian no football, etc. They are all good schools without having a football team. Dayton can learn from them if they ever choose to eliminate the sport due to the low numbers.

That would be fairly obvious. Or they could choose to go to NewCath or Brossart if they want to pay the tuition.

Dayton 2016
I think the real question for both Dayton and Bellevue is: When do you seriously consider no longer fielding football? More of a question for Dayton, if they in fact have only 15-20 players. That indicates either lack of interest or not enough kids to field a team. I know Bellevue does not have the same problem as Dayton. Lots of small schools do not field football. If numbers are a problem, don't merge schools, just drop the sport. With 15 players you might be lucky to have 4-5 who can actually compete for a varsity team. That is trouble in terms of injuries and competitive games against the likes of Beechwood.

The state can't force schools to merge. If they could, Silver Grove would have been gone a long time ago.

What? Since when can the state force schools to merge?

Major announcement by Newport Central Catholic?
Maybe NewCath is going to announce NKU's Deontae Cole is transferring up on the hill next year. The Brannen connection with NewCath.
-
Major announcement by Newport Central Catholic?
Is the big announcement ever going to be announced? Or are they waiting for DeAngelo Russell of the Lakers to record Brad Carr giving a motivational speech in the NewCath cafeteria with the intent of posting it on Instagram?

Major announcement by Newport Central Catholic?
The Dave Cowens History Month thing is a joke, for all of you with no sense of humor.

Major announcement by Newport Central Catholic?
The secret is out of the bag, so to speak: NewCath announced that April will be Dave Cowens History Month on the hill.
