  1. Trinity's statkeeper was NOT there today (first game he has missed in 25 years, from what I've heard). Here's a link to Moeller's stats, which has EVERYTHING from both teams: StatBroadcast Live Stat Feed
  2. CAL blocks a punt and scores a few plays later. CAL 15 Central Hardin 0 Early 3q
  3. 13-0 Mayfield less than 2 minutes into 2nd quarter.
  4. At the end of first quarter, Mayfield leads Tilghman, 6-0.
  5. Wright TD pass from Carr in final 5 seconds of first half. XP good to give CAL a 7-0 halftime lead at Central Hardin.
  6. Meade up 36-13, 2 min left before halftime.
  7. Central Hardin didn't earn a first down until second quarter.
  8. Meade up 30-13, still in 2nd quarter.
  9. Meade scores on 2nd play of the game, leads 6-0. Shelby's Caleb Morehead answers with 64 yd TD run. SC 7, MC 6, 10:50 left in first quarter. Meade's Zach Babb with a 66 yd TD run pushes Meade ahead 14-7 with 9:12 left in first quarter. Shelby County's Kyion Stone with a TD, but conversion or XP fails. END OF 1Q, Meade leads 14-13. MC scores on a short run and gets the 2 pt conversion. Meade leads 22-13 early in 2Q.
  10. I like your optimism, @Hardin County Preps, but I just can't get there. I think E'town is very, very good. But they're still not very big at all. State semis would be a big mountain to climb. Knocking off Corbin or Belfry or Central (that defense has been lights out) in the final would be Mount Everest. I would gladly eat crow if Elizabethtown were to pull it off, especially when a team with three eventual SEC starters couldn't do it from Hardin County.
  11. If it is OK for the AP to have South Warren in two polls at one time, might as well let Boyle do it if they beat Wayne and Collins.
  12. It's a rivalry game, but it is not Game of the Week level. Lots of folks will be shocked if Holy Cross keeps it within 2 TDs.
  13. My apologies to the Generals. You are definitely correct. They have been good. The other six have had some less than stellar performances, though.
  14. Not disagreeing with the burden part. Done enough of all-area votes to learn that.
  15. The preseason vote, as far as I know, was not checking boxes. It is fill in the blank for teams in your own class. Some voting coaches didn't know that Moore or South Warren had either left or arrived. AP still had them listed as a drop-down option. That is far worse, but some human coaches were out of the loop.
  16. That magic number can be screwy. John Hardin's magic number as good and they haven't delivered at all. The Douglass Broncos' magic number was the worst in 6A, IIRC, and there is no way they will end up that way.
  17. I think the BGP rankings are pretty solid for most classes (we will see if Elizabethtown makes the final out of 3A west, though, as Boyle has been impressive). CalPreps, like Maher in soccer, gets better as the season goes on. Late in the year, computer rankings are pretty on point. Granted today's AP blunder was bad, but as Josh Moore pointed out, the COACHES themselves had Moore and South Warren in the wrong classes when they submitted their lists. What's the coaches' excuse for that snafu?
  18. Not sure how good Holy Cross is. Blanked by Bullitt Central and the beat Valley team which is struggling both offensively (1 TD each game) and defensively (30-plus allowed twice already).
  19. Can't a mod go back and edit the thread title though? Can be kind of confusing to have a thread saying they are ranked and have a rankings post next to it saying no, no they are not.
  20. Eh, the humans had South Warren ranked higher in 5-A today than they had South Warren ranked in 4-A in the AP poll, so still plenty of room for human error.
  21. I know Manual has played some good competition, but that woeful lack of offense has to be concerning, no? Don't they have a running back with D-I offers?
  22. Trying not to offend the Fayette County schools, but isn't Christian the only Fayette school of the entire 8 that has been consistently solid the first two weeks? Belfry bounces back big, boys.
