Class 6A

In a week where top teams falling to 2nd is a common sight, Trinity had to scratch and claw to avoid a similar fate before winning a gun fight with Warren Central (IN). The Rocks continue their slate of top tier out of state competition with perhaps the best of the lot, Moeller (OH). The Tigers of St. Xavier have started hot and can improve their aspirations against Bowling Green. In Northern Kentucky, we may get to see the premier match-up of the regular season as Simon Kenton and Conner collide. Speaking of regional rivalries, Scott County took care of Lafayette and exacted some revenge. Lafayette has an opportunity to bounce back as they defend their Fayette County pride against Lexington Catholic.

I know Manual has played some good competition, but that woeful lack of offense has to be concerning, no?

 

Don't they have a running back with D-I offers?

1. Trinity vs. Moeller (OH): Trinity should handle the less than speedy Crusaders. History is on Moeller's side with their glowing 80% winning percentage over the Rocks. I think overall talent is on Trinity's side.

2. Saint Xavier at 5A #2 Bowling Green: Let's hope the 6A "power" can tame the Purples as their fellow district member Pleasure Rudge Park did last week.

3. Male vs. 5A Doss: This is a cakewalk for Male. I am not convinced Male should be #3 and we need to see how Scott County and PRP fare this week.

4. Scott County vs. 5A #9 Highlands Scott County will win this one as Highlands is still rebuilding.

5. Pleasure Ridge Park at Eastern This is a "no contest". The computer kids at Eastern do not overwhelm on the gridiron.

 

6. Simon Kenton at #10 Conner The Pioneers will knock the Cougars out of the top ten with a decisive victory.

7. Lafayette at 3A #6 Lexington Catholic The Knights are shells of their former selves. The Generals march through this bunch.

8. DuPont Manual -- OPEN No need to score any points this week for the Crimsons.

9. Butler vs 4A Western The Bears are simply much better than the Warriors.

10. Conner vs. #6 Simon Kenton: see post above!

 

If Trinity handles Moeller, I do not seeing anyone preventing the Shamrocks from running the table this season.

Wow!!! Mulhenburgh got a vote what did they do? Daviess got 4 votes and they lost by a running clock to a team from Evansville who will finsh 6th or 7th out of 7 in the city. And Ohio county beat two small teams and they didn't blow them out. Whoever votes need to do their homework.

I am not sure how much research the "AP" voters do before voting each week.
