The All 'A' Classic IS a KHSAA-sanctioned event ... sort of. There is a KHSAA bylaw (23) that FORBIDS missed class time for NON-postseason events. Obviously the All 'A' is NOT a KHSAA postseason tourney (district, region, state). That could work. Have no problem with that. It's doing three regions at one time at 3 different sites (and further travel) which becomes problematic. Take Frankfort for example. You could have Frankfort, Western Hills and Franklin County playing in 3 separate region tournaments at 3 separate sites at the same time. Bardstown and E'town and Ashland media could be in same boat.

For state, no. Media coverage would still be fine. But how many teams/games do you plan on having at Rupp for state? However, for district and regions, you would be likely to have several going on at one time at different locales.

There is a way, but the Sweet 16 (registered trademark) will look vastly different (perhaps 4 classes and the final four in each class at Rupp for 16 total teams). But you CAN'T class it and keep 16 regions per class. Even eight would be a stretch. If you go to four regions, that's an awful lot of travel and no rivalries. I'm NOT against classifying, per se. However, I have yet to see one single basketball classification alignment AND the proposed postseason schedule to go with it that I can get behind. Furthermore, you will kill your media coverage by having multiple tournaments at one time involving multiple teams from same area.

Elizabethtown Christian was a K-8 private KCSAA school acquired by North Hardin Christian, which routinely does well in the KCAA. North Hardin Christian private is within walking distance of North Hardin High public. North Hardin Christian bought the former Brown Street education center, which was owned by Hardin County Schools public. That gives North Hardin Christian property in three cities. ... They're playing Monopoly for a reason, and I CAN'T imagine Hardin County Schools, Elizabethtown Independent or Bethlehem will be happy with the end result/master plan.

The rumor going around these parts is once the current St. James Church leaves Dixie in Elizabethtown for its Ring Road location (phase one is done, but sanctuary still on Dixie) that North Hardin Christian/Elizabethtown Christian would take that spot. Or Elizabethtown Catholic, Part 2.

Except not all public systems do (that's their own fault).

Game was definitely cancelled. Early tweets said Adair wouldn't come because of weather. Although Adair did have a death close to the program, so their minds would have been elsewhere even if they did play.

The biggest is that many independents take out of district kids and will charge tuition. There are several kids who attend Elizabethtown who do NOT live in the district and have their parents pay out of district "tuition" to do so. I also know that several independent districts are more lenient when it comes to hiring coaches. At Elizabethtown, they have several coaches who are NOT based at the high school. At nearby public schools, a coach who is in the district or at the school is more likely to get hired than someone (although more qualified) who isn't. Personally, I do NOT have a problem with anything I stated above. I am NOT ripping E'town (or other independents) because they are doing everything on board. Just pointing out thoughts I've heard.

Bardstown, Elizabethtown, Frankfort and Highlands are all independent, too. All four are usually ranked in football most years.

Bethlehem is the ONLY private school in the 5th Region, yet since 2000, has maybe 15 combined region titles across all sports. Since they are private, after all, shouldn't they be straight up dominating the 5th since there is no other private school within miles and miles?

If you think ALL public school systems have HARD enrollment boundaries, you are absolutely clueless, misinformed or delusional. As a previous poster said, the public school systems THEMSELVES, and not the KHSAA or the KDE, choose and make their own boundaries. Elizabethtown's last National Player of the Year never moved from LaRue County. LaRue County's last D-1 boys basketball player lived in neighboring Hart County. Central Hardin's all-time leading rebounder in girls basketball lived in Meade County. And I wrote about a pair of brothers, living in the same house, who wrestled each other in the KHSAA postseason. Older brother attended North Hardin. Younger brother went to John Hardin. I've also written about sisters facing off in basketball and brothers facing off in hoops. In every one of the above cases, they were all PUBLIC schools.

Here are at LEAST five other programs above the .680 winning percentage since 2005: LAST 13 SEASONS (2005-2017): Johnson Central: 138-31 John Hardin: 136-38 Male: 128-41 DeSales: 128-56 Lexington Catholic: 127-51 (I'm sure I missed some others)

Soccer must reach halftime. If lead is 10 or more at halftime, or by 10 after halftime, then game is over. Softball and baseball are different. Softball has 15 after 3. Baseball has no 15 rule. Baseball is 10 run lead and must go past 4 1/2 innings if losing team is home.
